Exactly this - idling doesn't warm up a transmission, especially in park. Use your trans temp gauge to verify your fluid temps. It will take a few miles of driving before your transmission fluids are at normal operating temps.

The harsh 1-2 shift is common when the fluid is not up to temp. I get around it by manually forcing second gear at a lower rpm or just take off from a stop slower so it shifts second at a lower rpm until the fluid is up to temp.. then it's fine.

This Camaro SUCKS

I have a 2017 SS convertible , The trans acts like it is slipping sometimes at slow speeds and then shifts hard and goes. I also get a drone like noise and vibration sometimes, mostly in rainy weather . Took it to the Dealer and they say "I cant get it to do it and that is just the way A8"s act. So the dealer will not do anything about it. They know about the SB on it though. I have more problem getting service work on this POS car than I have ever had. I have owned 25 Corvettes and 3 fifth and six gen Camaros , but this 2017 is CRAP. I have to go through an act of Congress to get warrantee work done. Guess since I build the drivetrain's for BMW's , that will be my next car. I know the quality we put into them.

Lol @ BMW...cars that need new driveshafts by 50k miles, takes 8 hrs to change a battery, and damn near need to drop the engine to change spark plugs. Have fun with that.

That's fine with me. At least it would go to 50000 miles. That would be a great improvement on what this SS is with less than 20,000 miles.

Get a manual Camaro - even as a BMW fan myself, they have far too many expensive weaknesses.

Or you can just put a good aftermarket converter in the A8. Cost less then a BMW driveshaft.

Mobil 1 Synthetic LV ATF HP 19417577 I just had TSB Bulletin 18-NA-355 done on my Camaro and now the shutter is gone and hopefully this is the fix. Wondering for future information the schedule maintenance is to flush the A8 Transmission every 45K but can you go longer with the new fluid? Dealership says 100K but do not have anything in writing from GM to prove it. Does anyone else know if the flush cycle has been extended. I'm asking because the cost jumped to just around $500 to flush with Mobil 1 Synthetic LV ATF HP fluid.

Rough shifts and the smell of petroleum based fluids burning ... now the check engine light is on.
Opened my hood and engine shroud and other items aren’t clean.. either they made a mess when doing the fluid flush or something is leaking. Contacted GM last week because the service staff at the local dealer here have a competency issue.

Judging by the track record, I may go less than every 45k miles. These may go down, if this latest fix doesn't work, as GM's equivalent to the late 90s Honda transmission's that were durable enough to be made out of glass and toothpicks.

I just bought a Range AFM Disable for my truck - no more V4 mode for my 6.2 Denali thankfully!

9,000 miles later and my shudder is back. The severity from when I first felt it to "damn, this is bad" was way quicker than before...like 4 weeks. This car is a joke. This fix is a joke. GM is a joke. I'm done.

This was with the new flush, correct?

I figured it would come back even after the magic fluid change.
