Member-made Pedal Covers (Auto) (DEAD PEDALS SOLD OUT)

(SOLD OUT OF DEAD PEDALS) Hey guys. I got really tired of not having an OEM dead-pedal cover for my automatic, and no manufacturer makes one that looks OEM, so I made these pedal covers for myself. I was curious if anybody would be interested in purchasing them? They would be much cheaper than the GM sport pedal kit, but look just as good IMO. They are made out of 1mm thick stainless steel. I would also be offering the dead pedal by itself, for those people like me that already purchased the GM sport pedals and want to complete the look. Please note since the material is stainless steel it would require an acetone cleaning every once in awhile to prevent rusting.

Pricing depends on the amount of people interested, but probably somewhere around $70 shipped for the full set and $35 shipped for just the dead pedal.

You may ask “HartfordRacingCaptain, how can the dead pedal alone make up half of the set’s cost?” For which the explanation is that as you may be able to tell from the picture, the dead pedal alone equals almost exactly the same amount of steel and necessary cutting as the gas and brake pedals combined. Cost of the items is based off of the amount of steel used, and the amount that the laser has to travel to cut it.

If you are interested, please select a poll option. That is what I would base the first order off of. If not, no worries, have a great day.

since these are just covers and attach on top of the stock pedals, how are they going to mount? I don't think two sided tape is going to last long.

I used super glue. You could also use silicon adhesive, but super glue is easier to apply IMO because of the tight space between the pedal ridges.

Using double sided tape would also leave an unsightly gap between the insert and the pedals.

It's creative and it looks awesome but I think most members would want full pedals.

I only need the dead pedal because I already bought the GM set for the brake and the accelerator. Your pricing on the dead pedal alone is understandable, so count me in for that one.

They look great! Offering for manual transmissions or not? If so, cost for the extra pedal?

Thanks for the compliments. I understand some may want something different, I just figured some may want this too so why not offer it.

Thanks! Unfortunately no manual yet, as I only own the automatic for measurement purposes. It could be a future project though.

I would purchase a full set I don't mind using A adhesive glue to mount them. I think $70 is a fantastic buy.

Dumb question but is the dead pedal cover the same for both auto and manual? If so, count me in for the dead pedal cover. I bought the GM pedal covers for the clutch, brake, and gas but it didn’t come with the dead pedal cover.

It's very possible they are the same, it would make sense on Chevy's end. I don't have immediate access to a manual 6th gen, but I'll see if I can find anything and repost the results here.

Thanks everyone for their interest!

Just to keep everyone informed, I will let this poll stay active for about 5 more days, then make the first batch based off of the interested numbers.
