Is an aftermarket TC and tune the end all fix for the shudder issues?

I have an appointment with the dealer next week, I can recreate the issue on the highway quite easily. They've already told me that the Q1 fix is fluid flush and I've already told them that its most likely not the actual fix.

With this in mind, I'm a bit impatient. I bought this car with the intention of making it faster. Outside of this issue, its a fantastic platform. I want to start making moves for power but this tranny issue is in the way. Does the things I mentioned in the title fix the shudder? I'm really trying hard to stay with this car, I would be taking a considerable loss if I have to sell and look for another platform.

A transmission tune and disabling of the AFM will put a stop to the problem after you have the 2019 1st Qtr fix via Triple Flush and New Fluid Type. Depending on how long you've had the problem and how many miles on the car you might not need a TQ Converter. Also depends on how much HP your goal is.

I just called the previous dealer, the car had a fluid change at 6500 miles and a TC change at 13k miles. As for power goals, 550-600whp. Pretty much right before I need to get more fuel.

That was the "old" fluid then. If you can get the new flush now and the replaced TC has not been in the car for too long, it should be okay to make the move. (I don't think another brand new TC under warranty would be realistic, you'd have to repro the shudder after the 2019 fluid flush, by which time that TC could also be toast.)

I am roughly at the lower end of the power level range you're after, and everything has been fine so far, even with just the "old" flush and getting the tune shortly afterwards. Not a lot of miles yet on the car since then, though, but I'm working on it.
