Picked the car up Friday afternoon and got home late last night. Can’t be believe how the car drives and performs. The guys over at GPI are some of the nicest dudes I’ve ever met and couldn’t have been more accommodating. Can’t wait for the warmer weather and really push the car !

Badass car brother. Any particular reason you went with rods and pistons vs sbe? General peace of mind, furture boost plans, vtp clearance?

The motor was going to be apart and I figured I might as well do it while they’re in there. Keeps my options open for future power adders and definitely a nice peace of mind. Labor is very cheap when the motor is already out and apart.

This is awesome! A 600hp NA build sounds like a riot to drive. The stock V8 still gives me the giggles. I bet it sounds like an absolute monster at 7k.

What made you go this route versus forced induction? Was it just to do a max-effort NA build or were you considering multiple routes to hit this power level?

Just ordered my GPI stock CR drop in pistons today. Pretty much going the same route as you except I am going to try the TSP EL-7 CAM. Did you beef up your driveshaft and half shafts? Main reason I am going with the drop in’s is to improve the rings because I am doing direct injection Nitrous.

I will replace if necessary. I don’t plan on setting any records at the drag strip so I can probably get away with stock. Upcoming weeks the car will get a mix of bmr and spl parts. Also considering doing a clutch with a l/w flywheel.

Well not trying to set any drag strip records either. Safe high performance after spending a lot of money on performance parts is my goal. When I do the drop ins the shop has already said they put in my twin dual clutch at no extra cost.
