Does the car automatically enter learning mode after the battery is disconnected?

no clue, but i reset the car by disconnecting the batter when I installed the intake the instructions told me to do so to avoid shock. upon starting it back up I had a "fresh" start, but it certainly didn't learn the new intake.

yes. you allow it to idle for about 10 min, do not touch the throttle.
then keep revs at about 1500 for a few min, then 2k. turn it off. Let it sit, then go out for a test drive.
Mine runs better now than before I disconnected the battery after I installed the intake. It's more responsive and sounds wicked!

Is there any official documentation on this learning procedure?

I just got around to plopping mine in. Def notice the torque and throttle difference. I also noticed the 2500 rpm whistle. I don't mind it much because it sounds like a mini turbo, but does anyone know what actually causes it?

As an update, I installed stock, drove it for another 500 miles, no codes, had a mechanic install the KN intake to rule out installation error on my end and after 30 miles the light came on again. K&N approved a refund, they want a copy of my receipt and they want me to destroy the intake and send photos of the filter and intake pipe destroyed beyond repair.

DougCBJ I also had to destroy mine ( Typhoon) but I swapped out for the black plastic tube model and haven't had no issues and also this time I didn't unhook the battery.

I had the intial instal problem
With the air sensor incorrectly installed which cause an engine light and
Some other running issues.
After I corrected the installation car was running fine
Engine light went away on its own the day before
I was going to take it in.
I never disconnect the battery at any point during Or after the installation
So I would say it is working as it should
After getting use to the sound with tube delete I'd say it sounds good
Going to add a borla s-type hopefully this weekend

So maybe it's just the chrome typhoon edition that is no good? I don't know if to many people have bought that version yet, two of us in here had check engine issues, I was thinking maybe I'll get the black version, but with rotofab making an intake now, maybe i'll just wait.
