Which cam?

Its time for the next round of mods. I will be doing cam/heads, LT headers, etc. I got it down to two cam options and I’m open to input/thoughts. This car is not a daily driver. I know the two cams aren’t drastically different but I’m still undecided.

Option #1:
Intake duration—228 @ .050
Exhaust duration—240 @ .050
Intake Lift— .646”
Exhaust Lift—.646”
Lobe Separation—116

Option #2:
Intake duration—232 @ .050
Exhaust duration—245 @ .050
Intake Lift— .684”
Exhaust Lift—.684”
Lobe Separation—116

Probably due to the outlandish lift on option 2, that's an unnecessary full assault and continuous punishment on the entire valvetrain, almost no longevity there. Sometimes, like this time, less would probably be worth more overtime.

King will know better, but I really feel option 2 will be soft on the street with a centrifugal blower. I’m assuming you’re getting a converter?

Agree with both posts above. Will need a decently large converter for option 2 and heads that have been completely revamped(seats, guides, and valves). Then likely a shaft mount rocker system with some quality lifters and springs.

Basically option 2 takes the budget and required attention to detail to another level .
