Solution for that was a nut behind it with a machine screw.

If anyone is interested I have the modifications to the rokblokz is this video. It’s a bit long but goes through the trial, error and modifications. For the front you don’t need to add the nut but it think it gives a more positive clamp. https://youtu.be/t56kdzdSo1s
Interesting summary and videos, thanks, Redmoe.

It seems the SS and the ZL1 have some differences here, I have 2 clip locations in the front fender (sheet metal) and did not need the cheap tab clip at all, I could simply use the factory locations for 2 screws and the attachment is solid.

In the rear, I don't see the distortion or twist you showed, the mudflaps follow the contour of the bumper pretty well with the 3 screws and 2 spacers Rokblokz provided, although I did have to trim one of the spacers and tighten the top screw considerably for perfect fitment.

I think I still have an extra set of the zl1 addons guards that I didnt use. They're brand new in box. I can confirm tomorrow when I check in the garage, but if you're interested, I'd sell for cheap. I didn't return them because of shipping price + their restocking fee. Message me if you want them.

So, from what I’ve read, there is not a guard
That is actually “Molded” to the fenders, and is
Just a flat piece of plastic (frt&back) that’s cut
To fit? (For the ZL1)

There is; as stated above, ACS Composite's rock guards are very close to OEM, see for yourself: https://acscomposite.com/collections...ck-chip-guards

Not sure what issue Terry the Tramp had with ACS, but he did not offer much in the way of details.

Well, choices are $400 beaux or mudflaps, basically Several threads here discuss rock guards already, by the way.

I looked hard a couple of weeks ago....GM does not! I went with the ZL1 Addons and find for around $100 for the set they are fine. The ASC's for $400 was beyond what I was willing to pay!

Carzzy is right. GM designed splash shields for the LT and the SS, then never refreshed the part when the ZL1 debuted (and ever since). The fitment issue with this one is due to the side skirts and the ZL1 rear valance that has an overhang at the bottom of the rear fenders, competing for the same space that the splash shields occupy.

I mean, one could certainly hack up the skirts and the valance to make it work, but the end result would likely be an ugly frankenstein monster. Oh, and these shields, while elegant, are the smallest I've ever seen, I doubt they offer any meaningful protection.

In other words, it's #embracethemudflap time

When you spend 70k plus on a car, what's $400 to protect it from rock chips. Plus the ACS rock guards are molded to fit the car and give it a cleaner look. Based on this thread it sounds like there are few options for the ZL1 in the first place. Nothing wrong with the ZL1 Addons rock guards in terms of function, but they aren't the best looking option in my opinion.

The rear ACS guard fits over the front edge of the rear bumper. The guards look like they were a factory installed option. I'd of purchased GM guards if they made one that fit the ZL1. I know the ACS ones are expensive, but there's a reason they cost what they do.

I believe ZL1 addons will be making a molded rear
Splash guard to fit over skirt, but I have No ETA on that
