The DA was +250ft and Maryland is known to be a fast track. Unfortunately, I only had two runs and the first was the best. Rain caused the lack of runs. This thing was ridiculously rapid considering my previous '17 ZL1 in near 0ft DA ran 11.003@129. I used my buds 285/35-19 M/T drag radials on CTS-V wheels. Slips posted below:
Those times are almost one second better than Chevy publishes, so your mods have added something like 125 hp. Have you dyno'd the car?

There's no way his car gained 125hp from flex fuel alone.

more like 50-60hp and Chevy routinely posts 11.2@124 which is conservative. My other ZL1 would run 11.0 on stock tires and no flex fuel.

I'm pretty sure Chevy's 1/4 mile times are on street tires, not drag radials. GM quotes 11.4 @ 127 mph for the A10 ZL1; I don't recall what GM quoted for the ZLE A10, if they did at all, but it's probably 1-2 mph slower due to the extra drag (but it is lighter). And we also don't know the DA of said quoted times. That said, IMO a dyno is pointless since he's already ran 131.7 mph in the 1/4 mile. I care about trap speed, not dyno numbers.

sorry about the inaccuracy...11.4@127 is indeed what GM publishes. At near 0ft DA my '17 ZL1 trapped 129.1. No dyno #s unfortunately. Aero drag wasn't really any hindrance running the 1/4 mile. Seems like on the road course above 130mph I can feel more drag in the ZLE but no data to back up this "feeling". It certainly didn't feel like it was dragging an anchor for the second 1/8 mile. If a ZLE were running the 1/2 mile likely the numbers would suffer compared to a standard more slippery ZL1.

A Feb. 2020 Car and Driver Test [they would test in good air]:

"We tested a Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye (11.6 seconds at 128 mph), Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE (11.5 seconds at 124 mph), and Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 (11.4 seconds at 132 mph)."

If we use this time, he ran .82 quicker, and 50 bhp won't do that.

Car and Driver tests on an unprepped street surface, not a prepped drag strip. And the OP was on drag radials at a drag strip. They also take the average of two runs in opposite directions, so one of those runs could have been with a slight wind and have been 11.3 or 11.4 at 125-126 mph (who knows). Also, they test in CA which only has 91 octane, which is hurting the trap speed some, too. They also test at the manufacturer's recommended tire pressures in the door jambs, so they don't let air out to get better 60', further hurting big power RWD cars vs. AWD cars or compared to cars on drag radials on a prepped surface.

Plus, different cars, different days, different drivers, different track, etc.

A bit off topic but these are the most common questions here.

https://youtu.be/WVrUFcVO8EE

553 rwhp stock
633:w/ cai, headers, track exhaust, tune
693 cai, headers, TE, E50, tune

I'm sure there's video out there that shows dynos with totally stock car on e50

You're comparing apples to oranges when you quote a magazine run time vs a personal time. There are better drivers than the magazine test drivers, and there are better tracks and track conditions. The OP also used drag radials.

My bone stock 2018 ZL1 with the A10 ran an 11.2 @ 125 MPH on the factory tires (20" Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3) in 1700' density altitude (DA) with a 1.72 60' time. Stephen's time at a great DA and on street slicks with a sub 1.7 60' time makes sense. Northeast track in the tail end of winter.

Everyone can argue if it should have run those times, but it did.

As others have mentioned it's the difference between average conditions and street tires vs drag radials and one of the fastest tracks in the country with great air.
