At this point no. I have taken the stock file and tried making just 1 change to the file and it writes fine and shows completed but after it finishes and I push start button once I get a message saying put car in park and the only way to get it to go away is unhook the battery. If I reflash with the stock t93 file with no changes it’s fine. It’s very weird.

Yes new credits. It won’t even allow you to start to write the tcm the first time without the 4 credits. I can write the tcm with the stock file over and over again. The minute I make any changes whatsoever and try to write it I get the put in park screen and everything freezes.

Is your laptop connected to the internet while doing this? Just trying to cover all the bases.

Have you went on the HPT website to the forums to see if someone has an answer. Since I'm using the same T93 that came out of my car and haven't had the T87 unlock as you did maybe mine won't do that. I'm really leery of the unlock now. Hope this didn't turn out to be a waste of money, hopefully you can get with sales@hpt on Monday and they can help you figure this out.

I'm assuming the car was in park and battery disconnected when you removed the T87 TCM. This is very weird and would seem like it has something to do with the T87 that was in there before. Did you just read the T93 when you put it back in or did you read all? DId HPT send instructions on the re-install?

Yes car in park battery disconnected for TCM install. I read the tcm after install and all was fine. I can flash the stock file but for some reason if I change anything at all I get the error.

I have reached out to hp tuners support but haven’t heard anything back yet.

I double checked plug on tcm it’s installed correctly.

Like I said it’s crazy because it will flash stock file with no issues it once I change anything in tune file that I get the error.

Thank you. Will update once I get answers. I did have the T87A so not sure if that has something to do with it or not? I’ve tried flashing tcm/ecm both and tcm alone and still get the put car in park.

This is with the new MPV3 too.

Did you follow the TCM swap instructions? After i placed my order, I got a email with a link, Ill paste it here...

Before installing your new TCM, please read the following steps:
Step 1: Download and install the latest VCM Suite BETA available at: https://www.hptuners.com/downloads/

Step 2: Perform the “Replace TCM” special function in VCM Scanner
1) Connect VCM Scanner to the vehicle with the stock TCM installed.
a. Go to “Vehicle Controls & Special Functions”.
b. Click “Replace TCM” to start the function (located under System > General).
c. Follow the prompts to complete the Replace TCM process for the stock TCM.

2) When prompted, replace the stock TCM with the HP Tuners unlocked one. 3) Connect VCM Scanner to the vehicle with the unlocked TCM installed.
a. Go to “Vehicle Controls & Special Functions”.
b. Click “Replace TCM” to start the function (located under System > General).
c. Follow the prompts to complete the Replace TCM process for the unlocked TCM.

Interesting. I never got the instructions emailed. However it’s the stock tcm from my car, I sent it in for unlock. Idk if that matters or not but I will try these steps and see if it works.

Thank you

I think that's for replacing with another TCM, I think.

Now I'm wondering if you needed to do the replace tcm. Went back a read it again and even though it's the original T93 it may be that the T87 is the issue as it was the last TCM in the car. Not sure on this but I may be the issue. It also appears mine with just be a matter of putting the TCM back in and should be ready to tune. I don't even know if I'll have to read the file, it does not say that on the website. I guess I'll find out when I put it back in its place Tuesday. Geezzz.

After the TCM arrives at HP Tuners, an HP Tuners engineer will unlock the TCM so it can then be licensed, edited, and flashed with HP Tuners software. This is a one-time unlock that will not affect other operations of the TCM. The factory tools will still work for service and HP Tuners will then work for tuning.
Once you receive the TCM back from unlock, re-install the TCM back into the vehicle, and then you may tune the TCM with HP Tuners’ VCM Suite BETA by licensing the TCM for (4) Universal Credits (sold separately).

Ok I got it resolved.

So the t87A under general tab shows max gear 10. T93 file under general show max gear 9. When I copied everything over I set that to 10, well because it’s a 10 speed lol. I’m not sure why the T93 reads as 9 in max gear ?? However once I put that max gear back to 9 with all my other data copied over it flashed with no issues. Car drives like it was before hand and I still have 10th gear. I have no idea why but hey it’s working.

I’ve attached some pics for reference. The one that reads Max gear 9 is the T93 file
