Not only are prices going up, the availability is very low, especially on the ZL1’s. Better get your 2023 Camaro before they are GONE or wait and hope the 2024’s actually happens! You might wait and get one that’s ALL electric, if you into that! When I was looking for a new 2023 ZL1 (non-1LE), they were extremely hard to find in a 250-mile radius. Several convertibles were available, but that's not my thing. Mostly Black or Rapid Blue, but again, not my thing. I went to three different dealers here in Central Ohio area and all three said the same thing two things: 1) "MSRP +$5,000 add-on for Low Camaro Availability” and 2) “We can put the order in, but were not sure GM will pick it up." They were all telling me the shortage is a real thing. I found mine by luck! I have a friend who owns a large electrical contracting company here in Columbus. I asked him to reach out to this GM dealer where he buys all his fleet vehicles through and ask if they have one or could get one. He did, and his guy said we have one that just came in, it’s a 2023 ZL1 Sharkskin Metallic hard top. I told him I wanted it and I be there tomorrow to pick it up (102 miles away). I gave him a down payment over the phone and had my bro-in-law take me to pick it up the next day! I'm a happy camper (Camaro'er)

300/67000 = 0.4%

"Yikes"?! ... oh you meant "yikes, that's amazing GM only increased the price 0.4% wow that's amazing!"

If only everything we love increased in price only 0.4% this year. Seems like some appreciation is in order, rather than complaints.

You must have missed the $3700 increase earlier this year.

Nice! I put several deposits down in late October, was told by all it would be probably a year before an allocation would be available. Surprisingly, one dealer got an allocation last week and I got it. Now waiting for my TPW....they're telling me probably January but I have a feeling it'll be much longer.

My TRX went up 4800 from time of order to delivery. Luckily I was price protected. Just bought the wife a new Jeep. It went up 3600 from order to delivery. All the manufacturers are running the prices up. If the market does what it looks like it’s going to do, they will have lots full of vehicles they can’t sell.

I think in general manufacturers have decided to cater towards more wealthy buyers versus the general public. Honda civics for example cost more than I’d be comfortable spending if my salary was what the national median is. If the market does take a bit of a dip, I don’t see them having an inventory surplus because when the economy slows, it usually hurts the more vulnerable/less wealthy.

Agreed, it is crazy but I think it is starting to slow down quite a bit as folks get priced out or just don't want to spend this kind of money with higher interest rates, etc. Wholesales value have been plummeting so it is just a matter of time before retail sales on used cars start dropping as dealers write off that inventory. And new car inventory has been steadily improving so prices will have to subside there on them as well.

And all the other ones too, obviously. So let's take a deep breath and step back to look at the 6th gen ZL1 Vert over it's 6 year lifespan.

The A10 vert is $76k for 2023 per the GM Authority article. My A10 sticker apples/apples was $69k in 2017 (excludes delivery, all other options and gas guzzler tax but the A10). So that's a $7k increase or 10% total in 6 years, or an annual average increase of 1.75%.

This inflation calculator takes $69k in 2017 and says it has the buying power of $83k now, a 20% increase.

So Chevy is beating the cost of money by half. These aren't the droids you're looking for.

Thank you for giving me a hard stat on what’s gone down in just 6-7 years… that’s some real inflation
