Obd2 Ethanol Reader Problem

Hello Guys So Ive Read Here In A Couple Of Old Threats That It Is Possible To Read Your Ethanol Content With A Couple Apps Like Torque Pro Or Obd Fusion. Ive Been Trying This With My Old Android And My Iphone And Cant Get It To Work. I Read That You Have To Make A Custom Pid I Tried That And Nothing Seems To Work. Does Anyone Know What The Problem Is Or If Im Possibly Doing Something Wrong? I Am Copying The Same Equation And Nothing Seems To Work. If Someone Can Please Walk Me Thru This Let Me Know.

Thank You for postíng this question, Im struggling with exactly the same issue using TorquePro and a ScanTool OBD device.

Have you guys cracked the code on reading ethanol percentage on the Torque app? Around five years ago, I created a custom pid in the Torque app on my Samsung Galaxy S7. King LT1 coached me on the process, and it worked like a charm. Shortly afterwards, I upgraded to a Samsung Galaxy S10. I followed the exact same procedure to add a custom pid for ethanol, but could never get it to work. I have worked around this by keeping the old S7 in the car for the sole purpose of monitoring ethanol content. This is a minor pita as I have to remember to keep the phone charged.
I upgraded to a Galaxy s23 the other day and decided to try my luck on the new phone. I was not successful. The process for adding the alcohol pid is definitely not 100% identical between phones. I know I am using the correct pid# and equation.
I even deleted and re-added the pid on the old S7 just to verify that I wasn't doing something wrong. The re-added pid worked just fine.

Might be a compatibility issue with Torque pro software version and Samsung firmware version. You might try emailing Torque pro and see if they can update the app. All of my Pixel phones seem to work fine with it. I am currently using a 5a on Android 13.

Last time I check mine was working. You have to do a user defined PID. Here are the settings I used.

And I'm not even using torque pro, just torque.
