But I wanna bring this to light as maybe I’m not seeing what you guys are. Also I’ve been a licensed tech for about 25 years and have worked on a very large array of cars and heavy equipment and very specialized equipment so I’m confident I have some knowledge on the subject.
Anyhow, from what i read in the other post it says GM says anything below 22psi at 1000rpm is a low limit. Ok, so at idle you are at 21psi. Idle to myself would be about 650rpm roughly say give or take 50 rpm. So if you look at your oil psi at 1000rpm I bet it bumps up probably well over 22psi. You might wanna check and see. Your pump may very well be fine. And again I could be wrong and maybe it doesn’t bump up at which point I’d be definitely concerned.
Again, please don’t think I’m against you in any way. Trust me I’m on your side. Just thought I’d bring to light what has been written in the other thread and that maybe your pump is actually healthy.
Mine seems to act like you are talking about Scottyz so far.

My car is built 6/18 and is usually right at 30 or just slightly above at idle after the temp comes up. I have changed the oil a stupid amount of times already at only 4800 miles. I have changed it 4 times and the dealer did the first one at 500. I use 0W-40 ESP Formula. I know its a waste but its therapy for me.

hot idle, it's just a hair under the 30 notch. cruising at around 70 mph, 1600-1700 rpm, no load, I'm a little lower than 40, but I would say past 35

It dépends also in thé oil level... if the oil level is high, thé pressure will be higher at the digit dash...

I only add this to try to put your mind at ease (even though I know I would feel exactly the same as you if I were in your shoes), but I recall reading (decades ago) that you only need a few pounds of oil pressure at idle. You "only" need enough to float the crank and the rest of the reciprocating assembly. While I'm sure that's all that's needed to float the moving parts at idle, seeing it drop the way you have, and seeing the experiences of many drivers is concerning. It is my understanding that when the LT1 first came out, I recall reading manufacturers are moving toward to these multi-stage-type pumps to increase fuel economy. You don't need 60-psi of oil pressure at idle. So now they move to the kinds of pumps we have now. And - now you have the kinds of problems many have/are facing now.

Other cars do often idle hot at very low oil pressure, or have more pressure fluctuations. But the ZL1 does have very consistent oil pressure once it's hot, I notice much lower pressure fluctuation even at 250+ F temps coming off track.

So IMHO with a C6 ZL1, if you're seeing hot idle pressure readings near or below 20 psi on the dash gauge during street driving on a warm day, you may have a problem that can become very serious. Knowing that parts like crank and big end bearings are still being lubricated at 10-20 PSI would be little comfort to me. My idle pressure always stays between 25-30 as far as I know.

I love my ZLE and your collection is beautiful, but IMHO sell those 3 great muscle cars and buy 1 new 992 GT3 :-)

That thing can do under 7 minutes on the Nurburgring. If you watch the 7:16 ZLE lap on the Ring you know how insanely fast that was (4 wheels airborne at 140+ MPH), no need in my lifetime for a car that is over 16 seconds faster, I would grow old and die driving a 992 GT3.

GT3 will also cost less to run on track in terms of tires, brake pads, fuel etc. And with dry sump and Porsche engineering, it will run all day in 100 degrees with no overheat. If the motor has a design issue like the 991 GT3, they'll replace the motor. GM says "if your oil pump fails, here's a new pump--no we don't care if metal fragments spread through your motor"
