How to remove Headrest to make more room for helmet?

I can't find my owners manual and I can't google this (long story), I'm sure it's simple but does anyone know how to remove the headrest so I have more room for my helmet when tracking?

Not sure how tall you are, but if you're like me and your head sits above the seat back, without the headrest, if you are in a rear end collision, that could put a lot of stress on your neck.

Sorry I know this doesn't answer your question.

Yeah I was thinking about that haha, would only do it for the track but there is still that risk.

I'm about 6'2"

There was a thread on this recently IIRC. Maybe turn it around so it is angled away?

i bought a black cloth LS headrest. So my head wasn't so angled forward when I had to raise the headrest to get my hybrid hans to fit more comfortably. It was $35 shipped from a junk yard car-part.com

DON"T run without a headrest on a race track. I would be surprised if they would even allow you to do it.

Good to know, what does IIRC mean btw?
That would be nice if it could be turned around for sure

Cool, you don't happen to have a part number do you?

Yeah I agree not smart to run without one even if they let me.

P.S. Rolling without a headrest is a very bad idea.

IIRC means “If I Remember Correctly”... though the guy before me posted a funny link... probably took him longer to make that than to tell you but I’m sure he had fun doing it while sitting in moms basement...

haha, thanks for the definition, I'll take your word for it as I didn't get a chance to click on the link yet and wasn't motivated to because it looked fake

I know this is an old post but how do the headrests come off? Want to install a seat cover and I couldn't find a youtube video for a Camaro.
