If anything, they keep production going through 2027 and end it with an anniversary edition like they've done in years past.

Heritage Edition. Thanks for the laugh.

I thought I posted that GM did confirm to me personally that there was a Heritage edition coming.
From their email to me:
"The only information I was able to get on the 2024 Chevrolet Camaro ordering was that the order window should open around March or April of 2023. The dealership will know as the time gets closer so they would be your best contact regarding the order for the 2024. The special edition will be called the Heritage Edition"

That's less than a copy and paste job of email, it's like you typed out what you want to believe and called it a day.

You don't have to believe me.

I get support from "General Motors Executive Resolutions" Team.

All New 2024 Chevrolet Camaro. Saw this today. Doesn't look like GM is going to do the Dodge type send off.

Clickbait that says nothing definitive and unofficial at that.

OP was right after all.

I’m hesitant to order one because Chevy has done this before.

Remember Cobalt SS? They said the Supercharged was going to be the final car, then came out with the turbo version a year later.

I’m almost thinking they bring the SS back (four door sedan) with a different nameplate. Dreaming, but the rep even said it isn’t the end of Camaro.

Knowing GM they will bring it back as a crossover EV.

Also, did anyone read the MT article where it said Camaro is dead at the end of the 2024 model year, but said the last date of production is January 2024? That would leave what, a roughly 4-5 month window to order a car?

Yeah, same news is in GM Press release as well. MY24 production would run from this summer until january and its going to be hard to find an allocation.

Just like the OP, put a deposit for a chance to order a Collector's Edition now that we know it's a thing. I figure getting an allocation is going to be hard so better get in line as soon as I can. Worst case scenario I end up giving the dealership a $500 short term loan at no interest.

What did you say to the dealer in order for them to put down a deposit for you even though orders haven't opened up yet? And did they say/do anything to make you feel like the order was guaranteed?

EDIT:

Same question to OP, in case you guys can give me some guidance. I'd greatly appreciate it. I want to order a Collector's Edition ZL1 but the few dealers I've been to have basically said the orders aren't up yet and there's no guarantee they'll be able to get one due to the limited number being produced.
