Just saw your other thread about the empty space under the floor board in your trunk. Noticed you didn’t have the RPO sticker where it’s supposed to be located! Do you not have this sticker located anywhere in your trunk?

RPO tags are becoming a thing of the past. Being replaced by QR codes typically on the door jamb. Most bar code scanner apps will decode.

Scan the QR square on the driver side door jam to get your RPO list. You'll need a QR scanner app. I used my cell phone.

I got the rpo codes from the qr. Thanks for that.
But, after looking at the list of rpo codes, the F55code for magnetic ride is not there. The window sticker says mag ride is there as an option. What's going on? |

Its possible magnetic code for the rpo may have changed in model years ? If the window sticker has it , I would trust it

look for a wire coming out of the bottom of the strut/shock at the lowest point. If there's a wire coming out of it, it's got magnetic struts/shocks. If it doesn't have a wire then it's standard. |

I can see the wire coming out of the bottom of the front, but not the rear.

camaro only has mag up front it seems. so that's correct.
edit: though it does look like there is a variable dampening shock for the rear ...just not sure if it's magnetic controlled on the mag ride option or variable by mechanical means. The odd part of that one comes out the very top of the rear shock though. Not the bottom. see the bottom images that show what the variable dampening shock looks like https://www.gmpartshouse.com/auto-pa...omponents-scat Might be hard to see without getting under the car. You can also go into the mylink settings and find a suspension setting. Non-MRC cars dont have that screen. Last edited by cellsafemode; 05-14-2019 at 11:43 AM. |

I found some numbers on the rear shocks and they are the mag shocks. The parts sources call them variable damping, or variable time damping, etc.
rear left- 84219920 rear right-84219921 I can't find any numbers that look like part numbers on the front struts. But Rock Auto has them with part numbers; Ft. Left - 5801127 (5801114) Ft. Right - 5801128 (5801115) The rears were the only mystery as I couldn't see any wires coming from them. Then I learned the wire comes out the top as Celsafemode suggested.
