Throttle body spacer orientation?

So I received my Mamo ported throttle body today and during installation, I was so concerned about breaking the release tab on the electrical connector (33 degrees out) I inverted it and a throttle body spacer fell off. I hadn't noticed it until it came off, its 1/4" thick plastic spacer/insulator with an odd V-shaped protrusion for turbulence I would guess. It looks like it wants to go in with the splitter at six o'clock and facing the engine/intake.
So I fire up the service manual and it doesn't show one, I also checked out a couple of Youtube videos and no spacer there either. I'm going to lay awake at night over this, that said I installed it as stated and it runs fine. 2018 2SS 1LE, Anyone been there?

There should be no spacer at all on a normal ole LT1 throttle body or intake manifold. Ported or not the throttle body just mounts right to the front of the intake manifold.

The spacer is to eliminate the whistle on CAI and GM cold air intakes. It points in toward the engine and away from the throttle body. You should be able to verify this if you check the installation instructions for either the CAI or GM unit. They are nearly identical. The difference is in the construction of the hard intake tube where the MAF sensor is located.

Thank you, sir, I didn't even think about the CAI kit as it came off the showroom floor with it. That makes total sense as to why the videos and parts fish don't reflect it. Now I'm tempted to remove it as it looks disruptive.

I'll have to see if I can find the instructions for my GM CAI. I seem to remember a spacer with the tab at 6:00.

So I did have it in right but took it out this morning, fitted some 8mm shorter bolts and no noise. Having this thing in the air stream can't be helping things as far as maintaining laminar flow.

Yeah no other CAI uses that thing. Just GM overthinking the CAI and that a customer might complain about more noise.
