Yes it is, but the Malibu doesn't get the 272 hp version. In the out going model its 259, while the new one is supposed to be detuned slightly to 250 hp.

I rather like it. Carries Chevy's design language over from the Impala. The new Impala was a vast improvement over the previous generation and GM has managed to do it again with this car. I've liked the last few body styles of Malibu and this one moves the model forward in a stylish way.
Let's hope they hit a homer with the Gen6 Camaro!

I like it better now that you posted more photos. The grocery getter crowd will love them, as will the car rental companies. I am sure we will see some sort of copy of that front/rear end on some Nascar "stock" car in the future. It looks pretty slippery.

We also discovered upon further inspection that this wasn't actually a real car internally, only the body. There was no suspension, motor, or basically anything on the interior. Pretty funny to look at.

Uh no, absolutely not haha. Chevrolet is taking over YouTubes homepage from 3-11PM EST.
They are also running synchronized special events all over the country with this launch. A Kid Rock concert at one of the Army bases, a Make a Wish gift with some of the Man U players for a child with cancer, and a ton of other stuff. It's all really cool actually. |

From Camaro inspired tail lights to Corvette/ Impala inspired tail lights... I bet the Camaro is going to have something similar.

Probably to bump up the FE numbers. Lighter car requires less power-oriented tune and allows a more efficient one.

wow...I like this very much! This is a great looking car. Wish it wasn't such an imitation of the Impala, but then again I can't fault them for it. Both of those cars look fantastic.
Interior looks great. 300lb weight loss is very cool. detuned 2.0T, but the weight drop and 8 speed auto will make it as quicker or quicker than the old one. Great job!!!! I think it should easily be a contender in the class.
