How to remove/recover driver seat bottom?

I tried the search and only came up with how to remove the whole seat. I just need to recover the seat bottom due to cut in leather. Thanks.

You are better off working on it from outside the car. The seat literally comes out in 5 minutes. You need to take out the plastic side cover that's by the center console to get bottom cushion off. I don't think it will come off with seat in place.

I put katzkins in. Not hard to get the seat out and cushion off.

Thanks so much for that info guys. I spent an hour searching different terminology and couldn't come up with any posts.

I swapped my drivers side bottom cushion cover due to wear and tear the hardest part was the hog rings. Took about two hours total to do the swap with pliers.

Instead of using hog rings, heavy duty tie wraps/straps work as well, once it's tight, u cut the excess off and turn the raised locking section facing down into the foam cushion. Both my camaro front lower and upper leather covers are held in this way and it works great, I also find it pulls the leather in a little bit tighter.

You're talking about zip ties right? I'll try that this time. I've done upholstery a few times so I'm familiar with hog rings but I don't mind giving the zip ties a try.

I would buy a hog ring tool and hog rings. Matching the way the factory did it is usually best. By the 10th or 20th hog ring you get a feel for them.
