Bumping this thread.

Had the recall done, and a few hundred miles later my car dumped tranny oil everywhere. Sigh. Back to dealer where they told me they routed lines wrong and rubbed holes into lines. They fixed it and gave car back. Leaving the dealership at low speed there was a faint grinding or rubbing noise.

Sigh. Any ideas what that could be? Also, what should I look for when I get car back? The transmission line ruptured while I was driving and I started noticing bad shifts. Parked at home and noticed lots of tranny oil by front wheel. I’m worried about the long term effects of tranny being starved of oil.

Sounds like the rear differential groan that comes when it is cold. Usually after the first few turns it goes away...typically on left turn it happens. Nothing really can be done until the fluid in the rear warms up.

Nope. Not that at all. I've had that too. This is from front of car.

No clue on that one then...maybe power steering?

This dealership is a piece of work. Today they call me to tell me that (surprise), the tech says the noise is coming from my edelbrock supercharger, and that I'll have to pay to have it diagnosed.

So much rage. Not really sure what to do at this point. I just want my car back. I'm worried that running it low on tranny oil (before I knew it was leaking) has caused permanent damage in transmission (which is the noise i'm hearing).

Which dealership? I'm in the South Bay Area also. I think my car is developing the A8 shudder and I plan on taking it in soon. Should I avoid said dealership?
