SS-1LE: TR-6060 "MM6" - Official Max. rated Torque?

I communicated with Tremec in Novi yesterday and asked them a few questions about the Transmission.

Apparently there are 2 variants of the 6-Speed GM RPO "MM6" which they produce for GM and which have different maximum rated Torque handling ability.

430lb/ft and 500 lb/ft

Does anyone know which of the 2 variants is the correct one for the SS-1LE?

I was asked to provide them the Part# of the Tranny, so that they can validate this specification for us.
Can anyone provide the correct OE part # ?
I do not have / subscribed to any workshop manual at this time....

These are this official specs. --> http://www.tremec.com/anexos/File/TREMEC_TR-6060.pdf

There are a few. They are modified somewhat, but this is pretty close.

Yup, so the designed max torque is 560lb-ft for SS (inc 1LE) and 650lb-ft for the ZL1 (inc 1LE). Obviously, as proven by others, the transmissions can take more in certain cases, but these are the maximums that the transmissions are designed to (in considering all the validation requirements).

I downloaded this document from Tremec some time ago, however, the table does not necessarily depicts the SS-1LE Tranny.
It is most likely "B" but I would like to validate this with Tremec.
Tranny GM Part# is required.

Tremec did not mention the 560 lb/ft rating in the communication with me.
Maximum was 500.
But again, Part# is the only way to validate...

The LS/LT (M13) transmission is "D" (document attached). GM's info states 295lb-ft the same as Tremec.

The SS (MM6) transmission is "B" with the "C" first gear. I just checked GM's info and it does say 500lb-ft*.

The ZL1 (MJK) transmission is "E" with a 0.54 6th gear. GM's info states a 650lb-ft rating, like the Tremec document.

The ZL1 1LE (MH3) transmission is "E". GM's info states a 650lb-ft rating, like the Tremec document

*If you check out the Tremec "Magnum" and "Magnum XL" specs, they are listed at 700lb-ft. I know that, for the most part (99.99%), the TR6060 (the MM6, MJK and MH3 in this case) are similar to the Magnum versions. The SS (MM6) has the same ratios as one of the Magnum XL versions; maybe there is a difference in the gear construction?

Good info
Can you find out the Part# of the SS-1LE transmission?
I would then pass it on to the guys in Novi to give us a 100% confirm.

Oh, man, I'm not digging into that. You could find it digging through the parts sites... What is the reason you need to get this confirmed so badly? Are you worried about something? I doubt the 6th Gen has a 430lb-ft version; I suspect that might be an older version.

I agree with you
I am simply interested to know what the Tranny can withstand, since I plan on upgrading the motor sometime in the future...
It is always good to be aware of the limits
