Well that sucks

I was putting boots on my plug wires and this happened to 2 of the Injector sockets.

Yeah i think that is the coil end that broke, in my experience its usually the wires that disintegrate.

Yes it's the end of the coil. I don't know how it happened when I pulled the wire off the broken piece was stuck in the end of the plug wire

Whoa. Heat damage maybe from the longtubes? Although you would think the previous boots would have protected them.

I've had that happen several times over the years on various GM vehicles. No idea why it happens. Typically the ones that did it to me were high mileage or old.
