"Burn out guard" available at Jegs and Summit. We use it on the race car, even after several races before washing the rubber off it still works great and hasn't affected the paint.

I spray on a generous amount of Pledge... and it gives my car the Lemony fresh scent!

KY jelly. oops.. that's for something else.
Either tape, or a spray on slippery substance. (WD40, pam, etc.) work. never tried Vasoline.. that sounds like it would work as well. |

This is what we do. Then we use Turtle Wax's "Bug & Tar Remover" to get the rubber off once home. It takes the rubber right off without any problems what-so-ever. Then I rewash the entire car, rewax the fenders and we're good to go.

Blue Painters Tape was all over the fenders of cars running the Texas Mile last week. The ride back to the starting line had tons of pebbles that came flying off the tires hitting the paint.
Seemed to be the best method... Saw a couple with duct tape.. |
