Navigation on the gauge cluster

Someone sent me this picture and I said I must find out more.. Anyone know how to do this? I have seen it on audi cars but never imagined on a camaro. I own a 2ss and I have that extra $500 nav Sim card that was purchased from the original owner. I would never have bounced for that, I use carplay all the time. Just really love the gauge look with the nav on it for show.

On my car that came with the GM nav option, there is a Navigation page on the left hand side cluster menu, that's the one you theoretically need to switch to.

I wish the DIC software allowed "underlaying" the nav to use the entire screen instead of that thumbnail sized center grid cell, and made the gauges and other elements slightly translucent. It would look a hundred times cooler, offer more information, and it should only require a few hours of tinkering with the software.

Saw a video of someone posting a video of this with the map showing in the center section of the gauge cluster. I switched to tech gauge cluster mode and went to nav and all I get is an arrow pointing in a direction telling me what direction I'm going like a compass and no map. I have the nav package on my 2021 ZL1.

Here is a video of it that I saw for those in the Camaro 6th Generation FB group, https://www.facebook.com/10000926849...3311767426880/

All those extra options I paid for in my cluster and the only two I really use are my Speedometer (98% of the time), My tire pressure (1.5% of the time) and my tire temperature (0.5% of the time).

wait we have a tire temperature gauge? I mean the tire pressure thingy just shows my tires green all the damn time so I have no idea what the temp is.

I could be wrong but I think you have to be using the built in navigation on the car and not carplay or android auto. I have built in navigation, but I'm not subscribed since I can use android auto for free. Like someone else said, all it shows is a compass when using android auto.

Not necessarily a temperature gauge. All it tells you is if the tires are "cool" "normal" "warm" or overheated or something similar.

I think this is a feature that used to be on the 6th gen but they either got rid of it or it's part of the Onstar subscription. I'm not 100% sure on that but I haven't seen this on a car in some time. I just went and checked a used 2021 with factory Nav and it only has the arrows.

Maybe it works if, while you have the nav up and running, then take your finger and swipe the nav screen Right to left towards the speedometer. I know the swipe does this when listening to music if i remember correctly.

They could've removed it in MyLink 3, maybe because as it stood, it was pretty much only a gimmick in 2.5 due to its tiny size. Even there it only showed when 1) you had the factory nav option and 2) you had no route set, because if you did, this screen would display the next turn/nav guide instruction.

I'll have to check my car again -- I don't use the Nav in the gauge cluster -- but I think those photos of it working are when using the built-in navigation. I don't believe it works with android auto / carplay. I may be wrong, but I think that's what I remember when I was checking out the features after purchasing the car.
