Launching with 305s

So I took some time to see what I could do on my new tires and this is what I have discovered...
I did 5 runs once I figured out what I thought a safe and consist launch is and managed 3.7, 3.8, and 3.9 on all 5. Car in track mode with competition mode on: Simply put the rpm at 2.25k and get off the clutch as quickly as possible without letting it chirp or bog. Once the tires are rolling go 100% gas. I'm sure there is more time to be shaved by feathering from a higher rpm but this is a pretty easy, safe and damn consistent launch.
My friend is buying me a pair video glasses for festivus so once those get to me ill make a couple vids.

Can't wait to see the vids.. you should take it to Fontana and see how you do on the 1/4. You have some crazy 0-60's lol

This is not with launch control right since that's what the computer sets it to.. 4k rpm

I don't use the launch control. I put it in comp mode just because it loosens up traction control without taking it all the way off.

I should do Fontana but I went to Irwindale and that place scared the life out of me! So little traction I almost went into the wall. Heard horror stories of several people crashing into the wall all in a single month.
I love the track and getting good time slips but it isn't close to being worth kaylee's safety.

Very nice...I've never tried the 1/4 mile or 0 - 60 modes. I might do that soon just to see how I stack up against others. I've done 1.777 60 foot times at the drag strip on OEM tires and wish I knew what the 0 - 60 times might have been on that run.

I wish when u pulled up to the tree they gave u enough time to play with all the electronics!
What was your 1/4th with the 1.777?

I've never used kaylee's 1/4 timer because those speeds are just to high for me on side streets.

Nice

My best 0-60 on the timer with my 305/45/17 et streets near dead hook was 3.8. Car runs 11.6-9 pretty consistent with good launch depending on DA. My best 60 is 1.71.

Get to the track and confirm. You might have an 11 second m6

It was and still is my personal best of 12.08 @ 113.5. I have the slip posted on the fast list. The only mod I've done is a CAI cai. I've used drag radials since then but haven't beat that 60 foot time, but most of the runs after that were in hot muggy Tennessee weather. I agree, 115 MPH on the street could result in loss of driving privileges and a huge fine in TN. Heaven only knows what amount your insurance premium would increase.

It is a problem to set up all the electronic gadgets before launching. I've learned to do what I need to do...they'll wait. The most embarrassing run thus far was against a new Mustang where I failed to set those things right and he beat me...same day as my PB. I had a better ET, but that doesn't matter, he crossed the line first...lol.

Using a tire different than the stock diameter will skew your results with the timer.

What is the height of your 305's ?

305/30/20: should make me seem slower
On my stock rims and tires I ran 4.0 and 3.9 very consistently but it took a lot more effort and the traction control being off.

This is how I used to do it in my stock suspension Bolton 4thgen and got high 1.8s. I haven't tried it yet because everyone is saying getting slight tire spin by high rpm and a quicker dump with the clutch will get the best pass(never did that in the 4thgen to keep the glass rear alive). Kinda how the launch control does it but you got me thinking to try the less agresssive approach. With regular tires it might be better to not shock the driveline and slipping the tires so much right off the line
