One of the most biased, incorrect articles I’ve seen in a while

What do you guys think of this? Specifically the quarter mile times which makes it seemlike the camaro they tested was like a stock 4th gen.

lots of torque from 0 rpm make electric cars hard to beat.if theres an affordable panther in the future i will at least consider it if my current car is worn out by then.

I was pointing out the fact that our cars can break 11’s bone stock and in the article he is saying it runs a 13.x lol.

The track is in AZ and is 1082 at one track and the other track is 3000 feet above sea level , that didn't help the Camaro times .. Seeing the other car runs on Batteries it could be at 6000 feet and still run the same numbers as is would at sea level ..

Considering a lot of Tesla's money comes from google, you can forget about seeing anything on youtube where a Tesla loses haha.

It probably takes 0 skill to launch an AWD Tesla and a bit more to launch a SS.

Gas motor's performance also is degraded by atmospheric conditions and traction depends more on the surface vs AWD so there are more variables with SS performance vs Tesla.

This means in the real world the SS driver may not win vs a model 3. Especially at higher altitude, if it's raining, launch technique isn't dialed, etc.

I'm not sure what you're concerned about. Some guy drag raced another guy and one of them underperformed compared to their car's absolute potential. A video was posted on youtube of the race. A tesla fan website wrote about it a bit. And?

In terms of it being biased they referenced C&D, including a complementary quote and measured stats inline with the car's maximum potential.

Depends on track conditions and DA.

Exactly

The Camaro’s time will be influenced by some things that don’t impact the electric car....DA and fuel quality and health of the air filter. Beyond that both will be influenced by the tires’ ability to launch without a lot of spin. Both will be impacted by driver’s skill, but the Camaro a bit more than the Tesla. The Tesla has AWD, so there’s a definite traction advantage. Looking beyond the writer’s bias, the important point here is...electric cars can be excellent performance cars. End sentence.

FWIW, I totally clowned a brand new Challenger 5.7 R/T. I was driving a BMW i3s. With full torque at 0 rpm, launch is freakishly fast. That is plain and simple, a characteristic of electric cars. Add AWD and it gets beyond freaky. The Challenger would have certainly caught up if there was more room between lights, just as the Camaro eventually caught up to the Tesla. But out the gate...the EV will have the advantage until the V8 can get way up into it’s power curve. By then a lot of ground can be covered.

Tesla cant even get around nurburgring once before running out of power. Point is, as fun as an all electric car is, they still have some serious disadvantages.

Ironically, my wife’s Chevy Volt (her 2nd) is coming off lease soon. Tomorrow or Tuesday I’ll be heading to the Chevy dealer with her to get either her 3rd Volt or a Bolt EV. The Bolt EV is even quicker than the BMW i3s.

Actually, it would be faster, due to the less dense air.

That's about right for an M6 with a really bad driver. The A8 would have spanked the electric even with a bad driver and that's the only way they could have tested it without bias.

I'm sure it's fun to run a fast EV, at least the first couple times, but there is literally no skill involved. Even around turns, you can floor it and let the car figure it out. No thanks.

That said, I've considered leasing a Bolt for a DD.
