I hate to break it to you... but this demographic clinging to the good old days V8's filling the streets is no longer an influential consumer of cars...

V8's are becoming rare in most of the world...and this is coming to the US ...

Either there aren't enough folks that like big comfortable V8's ... or they like them but end up buying something else.

Team Camaro is going upmarket and making cars that outhandle imports because they need new demographics of buyers... the old generation you describe wasn't buying enough cars...

A V6 1E has a Cadillacs engine that outlaps a mustang GT and out accelerates the 5th Gen SS...

The 2017 1LE SS outhandles an Audi R8 V10.... I can't think of a better OEM performance bargain

Well, someone does have to buy new, or else they stop making them. Hence why no one can buy a used 2003 Camaro.

We Americans like our V8's. Couldn't imagine owning a vehicle without one. That alone will keep the value in used cars and trucks.

Since when is the V6 a Cadillac engine? There aren't any "insert brand" engines anymore. They are all corporate engines, used in any brand that needs it.

V8s are the core of the Camaro brand. The day the Camaro doesn't come with a V8 and a manual trans is the day I stop buying it.

The V6 1LE may or may not outlap a GT. They have never been compared, other than times taken a year a part in different tests.

2017 turbo 4 cylinder

I agree...but hey, 275 hp for $27,000 31 highway 22 street for gas....I'll take it and I did!....I bought my first chevy in 1990...The 2 door cars on the lot at that time were; Corvette, camaro, lumina, beretta, cavalier, metro...I could only afford the cavalier, but it was at least 2 door. I agree the price for the camaro is expensive...maybe chevy could come out with a $12-15,000 "2" door car for the entry level buyer...but it is what it is...

Enthusiasts will get better performance than we get today because we will be driving electric or hybrid cars. Today's hypercars have already taken this path.

Can't imagine enjoying better performance without the required sound track.

Better performance, of course we know electric cars are quick but also heavy. Me myself like the sound of a V8 than no noise at all.

I heard somewhere that a law is being made for electric cars to make a sound now while they are moving. I guess too many people getting hurt or something because they could not hear them coming. Wonder what sounds they will make? I hope spaceship sounds.

Maybe with some outboard speakers, you'd be able to download your own sound. Anything from a funny car engine to a big burly voice track saying "Coming through, make a hole people!"
