Belt slipping a little after lower pulley install

I recently just put on a 9.17 crank pulley myself and got it tuned, but i noticed that now sometimes in lower rpms, i can hear a bit of belt squeal from one of the belts slipping. I'm using 67.5" supercharger belt with the Lingenfelter idler relocation bracket and I'm reusing the stock AC belt and stock accessory belt. I've cranked the engine to verify that the belts are not slipping when engine is turning over, but I can't be for certain since i can't turn it as fast as the car will. The supercharger belt is incredibly tensioned because it was kinda tough to get on.

My concern is that the pulleys may not be pressed all the way back and that this is causing one of the belts to slip, but I'm not sure whats the telling point on what is too far on pressing the pulleys back. Does anybody who has install the pulleys themselves have any advice about this?

Try a little longer SC belt. The tensioner should not be maxed out. It needs room to move and keep tension on the belt. There are marks on the tensioner for this. Try a green belt HD as well. Is it possibly the AC belt? (Stretch fit)

I'll go get myself a 68" and see if that helps out. Turning on and off the AC has made no difference on when the squeaking starts, so i'm not certain. I may take off the belt, run without AC for a bit to verify.

"incredibly tensioned" means it is near the limit of the tensioner and the belt is slightly too short. Check the marks on the end of the tensioner and it is probably not in the correct range. Once you get the correct length belt on it and everything is clean and grease free, you should be fine.

Yeah, i'm exactly at the end point of the markers, I'll go up a belt size. Still not certain though if this is the belt thats slipping or not. I hope it's not the AC belt because that was tough to walk on.

I installed new idler bracket today with 67.5 belt. Belt was waaaaay too tight. I ended up going back to 68.5 belt. The tensioner is in the middle of the travel now. I may go to 68 in belt. Im on the stock upper with 9.17 lower. Im glad i got the idler relocation bracket. BTW, Lingenfelter said they have revised their pulley chart so what we have is not correct.

I just went with 68", it's not in the middle but it's not as tensioned as the 67.5" was. I'm in the exact same setup as you are too. Did you end up replacing your AC belt with a new one when you put on your pulley?
