I've seen 600rwhp made with a ported msd, I don't think the high ran is a must.

Porting the stock heads would go a long way, honestly if you keep up with Pray you'll see a properly ported set of stock heads pretty much keeps up with any aftermarket heads.

I think ported heads, ported msd, and ported 95mm TB will deff get you there.

Also most of the big power NA cars seem to be running 2inch headers, don't know if you already have some or have 1 7/8s.

It's been this way for a long time. On a stock bore, ported stock castings in the right hands will keep up with most aftermarket. This goes all the way back to LS6 243 heads from 2001.

Might be easier to lighten it up vs cam swap.. Dropping weight in most cases is free. Motor wise I would go with a set of ported heads matched for your cam. That's going to be a stretch jumping that much WHP with a cammed NA setup though. Why that number?

Not to change the subject, King but what do you think ported heads are worth for us pd blower guys? I was thinking of sending mine to Pray when it's time to refresh the springs

I have 1 7/8 headers, and looks like I’ll be contacting pray and seeing about sending him my heads and intake, and getting the 95mm and see where I’m at.

Just want the most power out of a na setup, and 600rwhp seems to be about the limit without major upgrades.

Yea that’s most likely what I’m going to do for now to hold me over till I just go all out and boost it.

I would say 30-40whp. Maybe even more if you have to pulley down to get boost back to the same number. Anytime you free up restriction boost psi will drop.

for the members with questions about stock heads vs aftermarket i have stock heads ported by pray on my whipple build. last friday the build dynoed 1011WHP and 982WTQ. the stock heads are capable and comporable to aftermarket choices when ported by a competent and profficient builder/porter.

porting your MSD will net you a little more towards your 600HP goal OP.

Killer numbers...I bet it's hard to find traction.

the 982 pounds of torque come on at 2700rpms and carry to 5500ish before it tapers down. tractions is hard to find! to dyno it it took Brett, and 4 other grown males with a trunk full of metal to get an accurate read for his dyno.

That's the understatement of the century with 1011/982 and a m6! Though I had it bad at around 750
