I guess we will see when you will actually be seeing the 2013 GT500. Just because you can order it doesn't mean you will see it anytime soon. Look at the wait on the ZL1. I would say we will see our ZL1's before people see their GT500 anyway. My ZL1 will be pushing at least 650HP by the time the GT500 comes out anyway. With a pulley change and a couple strokes of the laptop and that will be it. I don't have blinding bias but I don't like having to defend the car that I ordered and am waiting for.

Many don't realize that the GT500 hasn't had a Launch Control until 2013 MY. That will help with the traction issue at launch. Any car with over 500hp on stock tires will have traction issues without launch control. Take your SS with its measely 426hp, turn the nannies off and launch it hard, tell me what happens.

errrrr you can get that hp level with the current GT500 now, very easily. You will need the 650hp just to keep up with the current crop of modified GT500 running around. So you think a GT500 owner is not gonna do the same thing to a new GT500? You do a pulley change and tune to the 650hp GT500, you will be knocking at the 750hp doorstep, very easily and safely. You gotta remember, Forged Internals...the GT500 engine can withstand more HP than the LS3/LSA.

Your argument makes no sense man....I agree, 2012 ZL1 > 2012 GT500 based off of the simple fact that in general the GT500 is about :30 - 60 seconds faster than the 2012 Boss. Ford "Ruled" 2011 because it had no ZL1 competitor, with out something to contest, what other choice?
Unfortunately though the ZL1 isn't ruling anything just yet seeing as it hasn't come out, or been tested vs the 12 GT500. The fact that when it does It's "2012 ruling year" likely consist of a couple of months(Because of the June model year change) at best doesn't help that argument much either. The real comparison is obviously 2013 vs 2013 when we will have what is truly two brand new models going toe to toe.

I'm a huge enthusiast too, but where the model year in this case makes the most difference is the unfortunate hit in value the 2012 ZL1 owners will take when their "brand new" car become's last years in less than half a year. Atleast though, for those who don't car, they'll be enjoying their cars NOW rather than in a few months(years for me....).

Who is talking about mods, we know he who has the most money wins.
2007-12 gt500's been making 700-800whp since people started modding them lol. and the gt500 is forged...
what is your point with the mods thing? you didn't think you'd be the only one modding did you??
Way to blow your warranty on a new car as well, just to catch up to another car? sounds a bit insecure.
enjoy what you have and love it!

If you want to talk mods, try and find out who gets to the highest HP before throwing a rod.

Yup, and the traction control will probably limit the throttle on the launch of both cars to under 400hp so it really doesnt matter if you've got 600 or 800 hp. Until the car determines it can utilize it, it's useless.

Love it or hate it the 2013 GT500 is going to be kicking azzes all over the place

......no doubt in my mind about it....it's a damn beast.......probably the ultimate muscle car for raw power

Does that mean we should all run out and get one?..... No
