Tucson/Nogales people
I'm moving to Nogales in a couple of weeks for work. I'll be there for 2 months, and living either in Nogales or somewhere between there and Tucson. (maybe even in Tucson itself, I haven't figured out living arrangements yet).
I just wanted to know what there is to do out there as far as eating and shopping, or anything that'll keep me from losing my mind for two months. I'm open for suggestions. |

Do not live in Nogales! At least somewhere in Rio Rico. Sahuarita is about 20min south of Tucson and about 40 min north of Nogales and its a nice place u just have to deal with old people. Tubac is another choice, its closer to Nogales than Sahuarita, but u still have some illegals running around out there.
If u stay in Rio Rico u will have to do all ur shopping in Nogales. Sahuarita/Green Valley has plenty of shopping and stores available and Tucson is still very close. If u want to stay closer to Tucson and deal with old people, Sahuarita/Green Valley If u want to deal with illegals and narcotic smuggling, stay in Nogales

While you are here, the drive from Nogales to Patagonia is nice but beware of the local cops in Patagonia. The drive from Sonoita to I-10 is nice too. Also the drive up to Mount Lemmon in Tucson is nice, but the road is usually busy with tourists and not a good idea in winter.
Enjoy AZ. I live is Sierra Vista if you want to venture to the tourist areas of Tombstone and Bisbee. Just send me a PM.

Agreed. You want to live as far North as you're comfortable commuting. There's some great cruising routes in the area, though some you don't want to attempt in the winter (Mt Lemmon, Pinetop). If you're heading into Tucson, let us know. There's always someone ready to hook up for a drive.
Not allot of club activity during the holiday; Immaculate Heart HS Car Show 14 Jan, Barrett-Jackson Auction Scottsdale 17 - 21 Jan, and of course Laughlin/London Bridge Cruise 27 - 29 Jan. Welcome to the area. Hope to see you at some of our events.

Cool.
Thanks for the advice and the welcome, everyone. Since I'll be here for two months I really don't mind some of these things. I just want a short commute. If everything works out after the 2 months, I'll be back to live there permanently after 4 more months. So, I'll look for a nicer place for my permanent residence. |

Yeah bro try the drive from sahuarita first and work your way south. Rio Rico is okay but your gonna have to deal with some illegal traffic in that area. If u brought your Camaro out we have a cruise on New Years day. Check the Tucson Camaro page for details.

Crap, I missed it. My car is no where good enough to be in public right now.I just now starting to slow down in work. Sahuarita looks like the perfect place to live. I'm guessing no one with a camaro lives down here in Rio Rico, the roads are terrible! I'll keep an eye on the Tuscon thread for the next meet and I'll let you all know when I come out.

Take exit 12 rebound... Ruby Rd is a nice little drive. there's a few dips and cattle guards but after the first 4 miles it starts get more twisty and it ends at Pena Blanca Lake and a gorgeous view.
just something to do if ur bored.
