now if they could come up with a "sun roof" that would turn the suns rays into battery power, that would change the game completely.

This is my concern - while some are complaining others are doing. Whether we personally agree with it or not, electric cars are coming and I hope US manufacturers aren’t left behind.

When the rare earth supplies of lithium run out and battery disposal becomes a problem for the environment, it'll come full circle. We will be back to riding horses again. You can't get any greener than that.

Nah they fart and poop too much. That’s bad for the environment too.

Exactly. Where do the tree hugging idiots think electricity comes from?

I remember back when the tree huggers in California forced the shut-down of Rancho Seco in Sacramento (Sacramento Municipal Utility District--SMUD). Convinced everyone that the wind-turbine generators were better environmentally and "wind farms were built to replace it. Now they want the wind farms shut down because they're killing birds. They only look at the immediate short-term results.

I much prefer the look of strip mines or oil refineries. I like the added local sports team touch /s

I'm actually kind of torn by this. I'm in my 40's and have seen performance levels of Camaros change so dramatically since my first 1985. I completely get the sound and the feel and all that, but I also get the thrill of pressing the peddle and feeling like you're teleporting past other cars. At some point the electric performance is probably going to get a lot cheaper. I'm not sure how much of a performance difference it would take for me to give up the classic muscle car experience. I just suspect that in the next 30 years or so the tech may be more compelling. Mustang already pumps in more sound through the audio system...maybe instead of cat-back exhausts we'll all be comparing .mp3 files for our external undercar "exhaust" speaker system...

My office is a wonderful place most days. Of course my iPhone is a pain in the ass most days.
