I'm not sure there will by any negative correlation, such as "well we don't need the Camaro anymore". If that were the case they would have dropped Camaro a long time ago? Perhaps on the positive side there is the possibility to get the power plants into the Camaro.

I suppose GM could decide that they don't want to allocate resources to the Camaro because now they have this hot new ride. I guess in the end, none of us have any control over what they do so for me anyway, it's like well, whatever happens happens.

At first I was like, "Wtf, why would they do something so blatantly weird and prone to accidental button presses like that?" but the more I look at it, it's actually a pretty ingenious design. The center console has a lip at either side of the buttons so you can't really press them down with anything wider than a finger. Something as broad as an arm can lean hard against it with no problem. It's also significantly higher than the main driver armrest area. Passengers might not feel naturally inclined to use it due as an armrest to how high it sits.

Yea that's probably a safe bet. The Z51 gets slightly better/(wider?) tires, the eLSD, "more aggressive gearing (I think a lot of people missed this)", so it will definitely be quicker but I think 3.0-3.2 for the "base" Stingray is a safe bet.

It really sounds like they are improving the Z51 package this time around, making it more akin to our 1LE packages (aka a proper TRACK PACK) than just a "handling pack", very good stuff so far can't wait to hear/see more!

You can tell a lot of thought process and engineering was put into designing the C8. I think its a home run and the price is a bargain for what it brings to the table. I am not in any hurry to upgrade but at some point this may be the first Vette I ever purchase.

I like it but I'm very disappointed on no manual option. I know someday I probably will not be able to buy a manual but until then I will always look to cars that offer it still.

I'm seriously debating one. I'll give them another year or so to work out the first-model-kinks. By then I *hopefully* should have enough time to have driven one. But just seeing pictures of a z-51 spec zeus bronze metallic with the high rise wing. I like it.

I would like a manual, but my knee doesn't, so the dct is fine with me.

They really hit a home run. This thing is awesome. Can't wait to see what the future holds.

On another note, I still would love to see the LT5 in the Camaro, but putting a 500 hp LT2 in a ZL1-1LE type body would make a pretty cool Z28. Basically same power as the previous Z/28, but lower weight and better grip could make it pretty cool. Probably no point, but a limited run of 602 would keep the nameplate alive and wouldn't infringe on the Corvette.
This. Add CCB just to be different from ZL1 1LE

Curious what changes were made to the LT2 to pump up the HP and TQ numbers like that. Most articles say it's mostly the same as the LT1 except for the exhaust and intake side of things. Have a feeling the LT2 won't be putting out the same numbers if it comes to the Camaro

That's actually the Influencer Package for 2021.

Amazing! It looks sharp, 0-60 in under 3 seconds, mid engine 60k car? Chevy nailed it. It's nice to see they worked on keeping the weight down instead of just throwing HP at the problem. I imagine this thing will be very fast around the track.

That GPS aware front end lift idea is genius, I don't think any of the supercars have that.

Maybe low 3 second range, given the all season tires. Still the performance of a manual C7 Z06, can't complain about that. Figure upward of $65k for a Z51, given how the C7 was priced?

This is actually much cooler than I expected it to be. If I had the $, I would buy one. Maybe a used one some day.

Under $60K = $59,995 for a base model. Add Z51, Magride (which is not part of the Z51 package), PDR, and Competition seats and I'm guessing you'll be looking at $75K, and that is IF they let you get these options without requiring a higher level trim package.

Everyone is thinking this car is a bargain, but Chevy has adopted the sales model of the European cars already with the C7. Low base price, but ridiculous option prices, and good luck finding a base model for the first couple of years. You'll see more with $80K+ pricetags than $60K pricetags.

Is that long row of buttons just for their old buyers? they couldn't summarize some of that and put it in the infotainment?
