its just how it works.
you may have the fuse box diagram upside down. I know mine was when I took the lid off and it confused me for a good bit. I think people are giving the fuse pull a little more credit than its ability. the car automatically goes quiet once you get up to speed I assume to avoid drone and the metal/mechanical sound 4cyl mode gives off. if you give it some gas you will hear like a parachute sound (I think that's how you describe it) and the exhaust will kick back to sound. the fuse pull just changes cruising notes, no idle or WOT sounds. |

Stock dual mode gets less raspy with age has been my experince.

My car is a '16 2SS with NPP and I think the track mode is too raspy. I noticed it when I first went to test drive the car and they had it in track mode.
I'm making plans for full header back exhaust and a tune. If you want to disable the V4 mode, Range makes a device that plugs into the OBD-II port that does that. V8 mode all the time and the AFM exhaust valves never close. Doesn't mess with the ECU so no warranty issues. https://rangetechnology.com/afm-disabler/
