Does anyone else find the Camaro climate system weird?

I really don't understand the auto climate system in the Camaros.

Why does the A/C light turn on if you have Auto on, no matter the temperature? Even when you turn it off, the light stays on so is it using the air compressor, and wouldn't that just wear it out faster?

Why can't I have Recirculation on if Auto is on? In other Auto Climate cars I've been on it would even turn on Recirculation by itself while it was on Auto for certain situations (like it being freezing outside - no point to warming up freezing air when you can just recirculate the slightly warmer air inside the car)?

If you have Auto mode on and then turn it off, the fan speed still doesn't display anything, as if it's still in Auto. Are the fans on Auto, or are they just holding the last fan speed that they had in Auto, or have they reset to some "default" speed? I can't figure it the hell out.

This is more of a rant then anything else. It's really not a huge deal and I actually really like the controls, I just find the Automatic mode really quirky compared to other cars I've had.

Same issues in my 2019. And I want to add... when I have the ac on 70° it blows ice. Up it to 71° and sometimes it feels like it is blowing heat.

HVAC is one of the few very weak engineering points with our cars. C- at best compared to the rest of the industry and D- to F compared to the excellence that is the gen6 Camaro.

Thought about it for about 0.4 seconds before I bought the car. A little rocker switch next to the homelink fixes it for me every time.

In all of my GM cars, as well as those in my Lincoln Navigator and my Benz, the Auto button turns on the A/C. The A/C is not really *on* unless it's hot out. It's just handled automatically, as needed.
