Quite the contrary, my friend. This is is not applicable to our configurations. They are loudest when first installed.
  • Our break-in period is 800-1000 miles
  • Carbon buildup alone takes the edge off exhaust tones
  • Our systems that have resonators/mufflers packed with our special blend of acoustic material (read: not applicable to our 180 Technology resonators as they do not have packing in them) refine themselves significantly because of the type of packing we use. Typical packing material breaks down and shoots out the back after being beaten by exhaust pulses for a while. Ours does not -- it's a single strand fiber built for durability. It does everything but get weak and break down

Interesting. That’s new to me. Every exhaust I’ve ever heard gets louder as it breaks in and the baffling cannot do its job as efficiently as it once could. The change isn’t huge but it is noticeable back to back.

Interesting. I'll try to see what mine does after I get it installed next weekend. Stoked to hear it in person!

Also, our systems don't have baffles.

I wonder if tuning the torque tables and driver demand tables will correct the closing tb.

Well. This is weird. Finally got a day decent enough to take it to local shop. It's definitely leaking here alright. It's barely in the cat pipe. It almost looks as if the plp is not long enough. We are going to try and loosen pipes behind it and make up some area, but I dont think it will be enough. This is truly weird.

Carbon build up around fittings is sometimes very normal. You probably see some of that further back on connections as well.

With those types of clamps it can be, however the problem is if the 02 sensors are very sensitive then you don't want any carbon build up / leaks around that area, otherwise a CEL is inevitable.

The only option may be to use a high temp exhaust sealant.

The other carbon I am not concerned about. The carbon up front is because the pipe is so far out that the pinch cutout is exposed. I'm going to try moving pipes around to tighten up tolerances. Hopefully the plp is long enough.

AWE provides a paste. You should contact them directly and that should solve your problem. I ordered the exhaust and had them send me the paste just in case. Can't wait to install in April 2019.
