My bet is you putcats the stock TB back on and you won't have that dip.

I have a procharger and I have NO cats....

I'll see if I can get the log to see what's going on, but Blake is obv well versed, so if he said the throttle is closing, he knows what he's looking at. The system deletes your secondary cats, so unless you've deleted the primaries previously and turned the CELs off, it will still have the cats and COT is a setting as well that would need turned off. On my ZR1, it kicks in and takes the fuel from 12.5 to 11.5 AFR. So, seeing your AFR flat line all the way across, it certainly looks like the COT is off to me. Has the car been tuned as such?

COT will show up as a little dip, but the AFR reflects the added fuel almost immediately, especially on our Mustang dyno since the pulls are lonnnnng. I think a 7th gear pull on the A10 is about 15 seconds if I recall, vs. about half of that in 6th; however, 7th is 1:1 for accurate readings.

I would tend to agree with the above statement though, if the car is closing the throttle at a certain RPM, I doubt it's the intake either, it's most likely a flaw with the TB. Regardless, I'll take a look and see if I can help offer some insight.

I am still running factory manifolds and primary cats. Just deleted the secondary cats. And the car is still on the stock tune. And yes, they are loooong dyno pulls. I thought something was wrong when he did the first pull lol. I'd love to figure out what is causing the dip.

That being said, my mustang load dyno graph both stock, and with 2nd cat delete catback has the identical dip, in the identical spot, and correlates exactly with the data for COT turning on. A tuner I know said every ZL1 he’s had on the dyno goes into COT on the stock file (but that tuner is kinda iffy). But my car certainly goes in COT no matter what on the dyno,...nothing to do with weather or heat soak either.

For power yes as I have not seen another set of headers besides the Kooks green cats that actually withstand power; however, I think even those are rated to 800whp ish maybe? I have the 2" kooks green catted headers on my C7 ZR1 making right at 800whp. On our BIG power builds when we need cats, we only run GESI cats and cut them in in-house; however, this is the same cat that Kooks uses but we use the larger cores for less restriction. I was skeptical before, but after testing them, I was amazed. Checkout their vids. We sell these headers as well as these cats, so if you guys need them, hit us up! It is VERY simple for 95% of you guys to NOT LOSE ANY POWER while running 93 octane and no stench, be emissions compliant, and still have phenomenal sound!

Buy Kooks headers here:

Want to swap in the Green catted section for your exiting headers?
https://weaponxmotorsports.com/produ...=4400797909019

Kooks and GESI on their cats:

GESI cats claim to be good up to 1,700 HP!!!

Again, one of the benefits of talking to us is I test everything I sell on my own cars, so I'm not just pedaling whatever I'm getting marketing blasts about from manufacturers, or new products.

Was driving into Columbus tonight and tripped code P0420. So far I have been unable to clear it. I thought secondary cats were not monitored? Why would this code be tripped?

There is an exhaust leak on the driver side where the clamp needs to be extremely tight. I had this issue at first also.

it is described as a mouse fart exhaust leak will cause that code on these cars. They are very sensitive.

That is correct, the secondary cats are not monitored; however, the rear 02s are still active and they reference the primaries WRT to COT as well.

What are you trying to use to clear the CEL?
Was the code pending or permanent?

One stored, one pending, one permanent. I was using a Bluetooth obd2 adapter and an android program. I ordered a good wired one tonight though

Best course of action in finding leaks if there isn't carbon build up... water with a little bit of dish soap in a spray bottle, sprayed around the clamps to see if it bubbles. If you still can't find the leak then an automotive stethoscope as a last resort.

Agree with Stephen.....it's likely the clamp just behind the factory cat and O2 bung on the driver's side. Not sure why GM designed the OEM system with a clamp on the driver's side and a much better plate and bolt system....with a gasket....on the passenger side. I tightened the $hit out of that clamp after the first heat cycle and letting it cool.

Hope that's all it is!

Not sure what type of clamps come with that system, but C, V and butt joint band clamps have max torque ratings and over tightening them can create other issues.
