'18 Mustang GT350

Hey guys.

I have an appt to head up to my Ford Dealership to do a purchase. Depends on the deal. (Nevermind, Ford said they don't do deals on specialty vehicles).

I know nothing about the option package, so to all my Ford peeps.

It's a new '18. It has the equipment group 900A.

Option list looks small, but then again, not sure how loaded you can get these things.

Has the Over the top racing stripe. $475. (It's a gray with the black stripe which is the only color I like on the 350).

Electronics Pkg. $3k.
Painted black roof. $695.

Sticker is $62k. So, at first glance, doesn't sound too bad for a new '18.

Let me know. Going in tonight to take a look.

$62K for a non-R?? Wow! I'm sorry but the standard GT350 does not offer enough for that price tag...to me. Plus when I did a build there were certain things I wanted that I couldn't get if I opted in the tech package...and vice versa. It came down to me deciding what I would rather have and that was the tech package. I felt it was pretty pathetic that I had to resort to picking one over the other. Personally, I would try to get my hands on an 18 GT instead. And then build it from the ground up. I'm hearing that you can get one with PP and other stuff for somewhere in the high $30K range. Drop the PP and get it even cheaper. Or if you're looking in the $60K+ range then why not get a RS3 (Roush Stage 3)? They come supercharged and with suspension upgrades. Or get one of the Lebanon Performance GTs (or one of the other dealership's supercharged GTs) for $40K? I think there are better options for getting a Mustang with much more performance for much less than what that standard GT350 will set you back. Or you could always wait to see what the GT500 will come in priced at.

I'm not building anything. Gonna stay stock. My Zl1 is going to be 1100 hp here in 2 weeks so. I just want a sporty 2nd car that gets driven about 500 miles a month. Yea, it's a Non R. Shit, I thought that price was pretty decent for a new 350. haha. They ain't budging off price either so.

I don't really want to go over $65k on a 2nd car that will be my 2nd car, but my daily. The 500 is going to reach $100k and at $100k, I'd buy another GTR. At $65k that is about my budget.

Okay so the $62K is with the electronics package?

Honestly...what I would do is ask them why they won't budge off that price when the upgraded 2019 GT350 is due out soon-ish with revised aero, much better stock tires and a refined magnetic ride system?

Yes, sticker is actually $61875. They said they don't move off any "specialty" vehicles. I could wait for the '19's to come out, but now we are going to be into the $70k's easy so. Would I pay $10k extra for that? I don't know. Shoot, I can damn nearly buy me a Zl1 1LE, but doubt I can find any local at $62k so. But for some reason, I love the 350. Don't know why. I know it's leap years behind the Zl1, but as mentioned, it looks mean as hell. I might do an intake and tune, but that's about it. It's gonna stay stock. I'll put $7500 down on it. Keep it for a year or two then sell it or trade it in on something and get decent value since mileage will be low. I screwed up on the Zl1 and the build. I wanted to keep it a 750 hp streetable car, we are now tearing the motor apart, going F1A-94 with a drag set up. It's turning into a monster and I had no intentions of that happening so. There ain't nothing I'm going to buy that will fill the speed fix unless I go with the new Ducati V4. My last cars have been a Z06, Maserati GT, GTR, before that another Zl1. A few bikes in between. Wife has the C63 AMG. Before that we had the Lexus RC350. I'm like running out of cars to play with within the $65k range. I'd honestly like to move to a Hellcat Charger, but can't find anything at the $61k price point. Not new anyways.

Agreed, but this is their ONLY 350 on the lot and I'm screwed too cus it's the only color combo I want in the city of Houston. So, It's this or I don't buy a 350. But, whatever happens, life goes on.

You only live once. I love the looks of it like you do. You already own a ZL1 and if you are planning to sell it in 2 years before warranty ends then go for it.

I'd take this over a standard GT350
https://www.ebay.com/itm/2017-Ford-M...-/202346686598
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Ford-Mustan...-/263767410678

I would even consider the jackhammer Mustang but it looks like dealerships are charging markups for those...lol! One dealership is trying to get $73K for one SMH.

I really don't think you'll be happy in a Shelby. Just going from the little I know about you. Yea they are nice looking. But that is what drove me to buy the 15 GT I had and I straight up started disliking the car on the drive home. I'd say make sure you really want one.

And I would probably hold off on throwing a tune on that car. Void the warranty and if that engine blows up then you're looking at a $25K engine. Yikes!!

You won't be. The '19 might include some refreshed aero and some suspension tweaks, but it isn't any more special beyond it. With the GT500 coming for the 2020 MY, I don't see the 350s commanding any more than they do today.

BTW, I do share your interests in the GT350. I just couldn't see spending $15K over an SS 1LE for a car with similar performance.

Plus the PP2 will supposedly be right there for $10K less. LOL! I get it that the GT350 is a nice looking and interesting car. But I just can't ship buying one with it's lack of performance. I think the 6th Gen ZL1 spoiled a lot of us.

I am like you, I love the GT350 and I dont know why HAHAHA.

You swap out cars a lot, and have mentioned you do not intend to keep this one long. I think you would do yourself a favor to at least consider a lightly used GT350, and save yourself $10K EASY.

You can find some VERY nice condition low miles GT350's out there for low $50's all day.

If you're thinking of tuning already, then you will, so warranty is not a concern for you. The right used car can be a real jewel and great deal.

Good luck man, hope you find the right car at the right price!! Wish I could afford one too HAHAHA.

Here is a '17 w/electronic package in Plano...4 short hours driving....$10K savings..just sayin.

That's actually not a bad price, but can't do black again. Anyhow, I stayed up last night looking at $65k and under and I'm going to see if I can pull off a Zl1 1LE instead. I thought about it some more and even tho at $61k I think it's a decent deal, I could spend a few more grand and prob find me a 1LE.

My buddy has a Roush Stage 3 and it's sick looking, but it's a dog. I rode with im a few times to play golf, he's like, watch this. Hammers it and I'm like, have we gone anywhere yet? haha. Nowhere close to the Zl1. But, anyhow. I'm not buying my 2nd car to wipe the streets with. Just want something clean and mean looking.

I would wait for the 2019 models to arrive, the subtle but effective changes should make a significant upgrade. Also the new updates will likely drive the prices on the older models down a bit. You will have a garage to die for with the modified ZL1 and GT350
