I am late to the party but will be trying to have a similar trap..

I need to talk to you when you get a chance about some concerns with my PFI project this winter.

Somehow came upon this thread of yours - I modeled my first G8 kit right from your original G8 build. Your latest build is impressive as usual!

Second go at it with my G8 (sold car, bought it back), on Precision turbos... and they're pushing oil past the front seals it seems, even with drawing as much venting off the valve covers and valley...

What's the feed/return setup you've got on them? Single -3an then split to each? How big are your return lines?

I use a billet return adapter to -10 into a catch bin that then gets pulled by a scavenge pump... Not sure it's working as well as it could.

Good luck this upcoming spring!

I use -4 to the turbs and -6 return. I have oil restrictions in the turbo oil inlets. I also have a 30sec time delay off relay so the pump runs after the car is shut off. I found you need to keep the return pump as low as you can and the pre pump line as short as you can. Also too big of a line is bad for suction. The oil gets pretty thin and can’t climb a fat hose with suction.

What size restriction did you use? Those 6266's BB or Journal?

Looks like I'll be moving the pump and switching up the lines a bit. Always thought a larger return line to allow free"er" flow out of the housings.

Thanks a million!

Journal. Something like this https://www.ebay.com/itm/060-AN-4AN-...0AAOSwuqdaquSS

I think your set up from the turbos yo the little box is ok. Large lines for gravity drain are good. From that box to your pump needs to be fairly small, flat and not very long. Post pump you can run 20+’ if you want. Still a small hose.

I had some issues too. My pump head was about 10” higher than the turbo drains and about 3’ away. I got that down to ~2” above and 2.5’ away and my issues went away.

Oh yeah, I also put a 1-2psi check valve in the turbo feed line down near the turbos to prevent gravity draining into the turbos over night. I don’t know how much of what I did was required but having a car belching smoke is embarrassing and stinky.

Awesome! I swear these little gotchas need to be a sticky on every turbo forum out there for low/mid-mount setups!

Thanks a ton again! Sounds like this will all take care of the oil problems I've got
