CEL P015D after tune with headers ?

Whats up guys,

Got my car tuned and now i got a CEL with code P015D(02 Sensor delay response- Lean to Rich Bank 2 Sensor 1) x2. It also shows P0036,37,56,57.

Tuner wants me to get new 02 sensors and im not questioning him, i just want to make sure im not spending unnecessary money.

Mods are;
e85
off road tsp headers (i didn't weld the headers to stock x pipe so there is a small exhaust leak that i can tell when right next to other vehicles and accelerating, i don't know if that's causing the code?)

rotofab dry

Also if you guys do think i need new 02 can someone point me to the right ones.

thanks dudes

This code isn’t turned off via tune?

Hey dragoo,
Not sure if they are from the exhaust leak, but probably the leak is in some way contributing.
That said I recently installed headers and prior to welding it due to leaks from the clamps, I threw the following codes. P2097 post catalyst fuel trim system too rich bank 1, P0137 O2 circuit low voltage bank 1 sensor 2, P015B O2 sensor delayed response -lean to rich bank 1 sensor 1. Reset the codes after welding and CEL again, but didn't run the codes and they may be different.
Having it tuned next week at Redline in Pompano.
Hope you get it sorted and someone can tell you definitively if you need to replace the O2 sensors. From all my reading I haven't heard of that being necessary after simple header install.

So i just had my tuner turn off the 02s which is causing that error and called it a day. i'd rather not weld my headers and exhaust / connection pipes together, i like the fact that if i wanted to i can change up the exhaust later down the road instead of cutting it again.

The slow or delayed response is because the o2's are not reaching the same operating temp as they did before with the factory tri-y's. o2's need to reach a certain temp to function correctly which is why automobiles in the last 25 yrs or so have open and closed loop systems. When the car is cold the system is operating in open loop SD until it reaches a predetermined temp(normally in the 150 degree range) then the system switches over to closed loop and defaults to maf and o2 data for fueling. Headers screw with the system and you either need to disable a bunch of codes or adjust some other tables in the tune that effect how the o2's function.

I don't have my headers welded, have hi flow cats, all 4 sensors hooked up, and don't get any codes. Need to change some settings in the tune rather than turn them off. Most people never change 3 settings in the tune and I've never understood why not. They have to do with the o2 sensor after header install and their new location farther away from the engine. I did use a little exhaust sealing compound on the joints when I put it together though - zero leaks......

Make sure you aren't sucking air in after the MAF somewhere as this will cause a lean condition (non-metered air the ecm doesn't know about) for the o2 to pick it up and add fuel.
