Wheel well liner damage after track day

Just had my first track day. Car feels great initially. After a few sessions, then somehow couldn't put power down.

Noticed left rear significant damage in wheel well liner, the liner was almost completely torn off.
Also damages on all other corners, one corner looks like the tire was rubbing the liner? Alignment was off?

First time encounter this after 3 years of track days with M3. First track day with ZL1 and this happened. Anybody has encountered this before?

That wasn't from the tires, definitely some debris flung up.

The driver rear liner has very little clearance to begin with. I had mine replaced under warranty because it was starting to wear through, exposing the wire harness behind it. Mine had a hole worn through after about 6 events last year. I know that there are a couple other people with similar encounters on the ZL1 1LE facebook group while tracking.

Having said that, the first pic you posted definitely looks like track debris. But the second pic looks like what I'm referring too.

Thanks! The second photo with liner completely torn off, is the left rear. Are you saying left rear has different clearance than right rear?

To clarify, the first picture is the right rear, second is left rear, third is right front. Left front had a hole as well but I didn't take a picture.

Yes, there is a wire harness (as shown in your picture) that pushes the liner out a bit. There are several threads about how owners have relocated that harness to eliminate rubbing issues on the liner. You will want to relocate the harness before you replace the liner.

^As stated above, yes there's a body harness that creates a tight spot between the liner and the tire on driver rear.

I personally did not relocate the harness, as I don't want to take chances against warranty issues in the future. The liner was done under warranty and I will continue to monitor it this season.

Thanks a lot! Wow, can't believe this is GM's unique way to ask me have less fun in a CW track. LOL.

I've never seen damage like that on my car (SS 1LE). Could the track configuration have something to do with it? Perhaps there is a part with extreme compression?

the liner and tires look terrible...the wear on the tires is obnoxious for the amount of track time you mention. I replaced my driver's liner due to a wear spot but it looked way better than yours. Weird...I don't know what else to say.
