He probably didn't visit them. The hospitals probably started putting in calls trying to find him a location. We had the same situation happen with a guy I work with. He had his appendix burst and couldnt get in to either of our two main hospitals so they called out and finally found one with a room a couple counties out from him.

That would depend on what kind of cardiac event he was having and him being an older man his heart probably wasn't the strongest so time wasn't really on his side.
