Suspension different between 2017 and 2019 V6 Camaros w/ RS?
I've posted before about me getting a loaner from the dealership. It was a 1LS v6 and no extra packages (18in wheels, no RS, no npp, and cloth seats). The tires were filled with nitrogen though. It rode significantly better than my 2017 2LT V6 w/ RS & NPP (with 20k miles and leather seats) in terms of suspension smoothness. I concluded that it was due to the wheel size difference... until today.
My car is back at Chevy due to the power steering recall and they loaned me another 2019 1LT V6 w/ RS package (cloth seats). Again, this car is riding smoother than mines! When I went over a pot hole on the highway (not intentional) the 2019 absorbed the shock like nothing, whereas in my 2017 I would cringe in feeling bad for the car. And to enter my street I have to pass a railroad crossing. I've pass through here daily and know at what speed I should slow down to and what shock to expect by going over the gaps from the tracks. Again, the 2019 surprised me by being smoother going over these said tracks. Both of these Camaros are on the 20in run flats tires, granted the 19 is nitrogen filled. However, from my understanding the air we breathe is already mostly nitrogen so the difference between air filled vs nitrogen filled is insignificant. Dealership does multi-point check inspections each time I bring it in and they haven't told me anything about my car's suspension being damaged. Does anyone know why the 2019 would ride smoother than the 2017s?

You sure you don't have a bent wheel or something?

Sounds like there is something wrong with your 2017. It should all be the same suspension components.

the psi should be the same in your nitrogen filled tire vs your air filled one (at least at operating temp). The only difference is that nitrogen doesn't expand as much under the heat your tire will see during use so you have a more stable psi whether the tire is cold or warmed up.
It wouldn't impact how springy the tire feels unless the psi is significantly different. I would suspect that the PSI in your 2017 is significantly different from the loaners unless you're looking at different rubber. Then you're comparing apples to oranges. |

My 16 rides like it has bricks for tires also. I would image every year the performance division has improved the shock package for a better ride but also not lose the sport feel.

I have noticed with my car that if the tires are overfilled the ride can be overly stiff, much more noticeably than any car I've ever driven before. Might want to check tire pressure.

I'll check the air pressure of the loaner and compare it to my 2017 when I get it back. I'm not sure if thread wear would cause a noticeable stiffness difference with the loaner having only 2k miles. I still have stock tires since it still passes the penny test, but I have been looking online for replacement tires. I haven't settled on a specific one because I'm so indecisive. Any suggestions on good tires since we are on the topic?
