Now I'm not really shifting cause i got up to the gears speed more like the tire spin and and it hits the rev limiter.

On the reverse of this not sure I'd have it any other way cause its a blast to pull to some car next to and be going 80 and with about 3000 rpm on it the tires will spin if I mash it lol!

I want to track the car as in road course and or larger ovals with some turns.

You're definitely not doing your tires any glory with those 3.91 gears. I, like you, have a hard time on the road with street tires. 1st gear useless, 2nd gear a spinfeast, 3rd gets interesting top end (around 100mph), and I'm running the 3.73. The 3.73's seem really good but easy to spin the tires at the strip and on the street. Was hoping to get faster without spinning with a set like 3.23.

I think I'll go ahead and get some 3.23, keeping the 3.73 in case, and report back... Worse case, I will have a set of gears (3.23) for when a new forged and stroked motor go in, and bigger turbos!

As far as the road course tire question, have heard and seen the Michelin PSS run great, holding the turns. Seen them run at the strip on a modified ZL1 and they started off the line well, almost as good as the Nitto DR's I have (probably not saying much).

I got a good deal on a ZL1 rear, with the 323 gears in it, so I went with it, it was a hard deal to beat.

I wish I had some experience to give you on this, to tell you how I like it. But the truth is, I am waiting to see if I have shot myself in the foot by changing my gears or If I have made the right move. The car will be done end of April or first part of May.

You're "some" help, really.... Got the setup I'm wanting to know about but you're in the same position - not knowing how they'll (3.23) run, and the car in the shop.

If the 3.23 isn't enough, turn the boost up until it is

I gotcha. Just giving you a hard time for your lack of ability to help since you were in the same boat. I did get the 3.23 RDM ordered so once delivered, installed and broken-in properly, I can report back to you as improvement or bust. Also going with poly front and Delrin rear bushings to keep 'er stiff on launches. I imagine I'll need to build up a few more pounds of boost to jump off the line. We'll see...

I'm no help either. I got the ZL1 3.73 unit under the car now and a ZL1 3.23 unit on the shelf if needed.Haven't had a change to try the car yet due to weather. Mine is an Auto too. So it's not much help either.
lol...
