Gutting high-flow cats: Question
I have headers with high flow cats. Will I gain any extra sound or better airflow from gutting the high flow cats?
If I did gut them, would I need a tune adjustment? Thanks guys

1HP... Ted did the test (with and without HF cats) during the header size tests.
not sure about the sound... I imagine it would not be much of a difference. Personally, I would leave them as-is. I am pretty sure that you would not need a tune adjustment.

Depending on your current tune, you might need to retune for the off road pipes (you'll need your rear o2 sensors turned off). You'll gain a little more volume and a bunch of rasp. Is it worth it? Probably not.

Already have rear o2 sensors tuned off. And I was just wondering, if I did it myself, would it be that bad of an idea? I know plenty of car people that like the extra smell as they relate it to older muscle cars, and a little extra rasp for free is always nice.
I need to have cat in place to pass nys inspection, so I wouldn't run connecting pipes, but that's for the input

I wouldn't recommend it.. You will gain minimal hp, a louder tone and a lot of rasp. If you really want to go catless, I'd sell the catted connection pipes and buy some offroad connection pipes.
