DIY: RX Catch Can Long Bracket to Short Bracket Conversion
Alright guys well heres a DIY on how to take the long bracket that some RX catch cans have and convert it to a short bracket.
First off you need a cold one.... Then you also need a RX Catch Can Step 1: Measure from the top of the can to the first hole. This will make the bracket and can flush when installed. The measurement comes out to 1-11/16". Step 2: Make your mark on the bracket. Measure from the bottom of the part where the bolt goes through. (The top part of the bracket in the picture) Step 3: Measure across the bracket so you can find the center of the bracket. The center is 3/4" across. Step 4: Drill out the hole using a drill bit two sizes bigger then 1/4" like a 3/8" metal drill bit. Step 5: Measure the distance from the middle of hole one to hole two. The dimension is 3/4" or 6/8" or 12/16" or 24/32" or 48/64"...................... 96/128". Then mark down the bracket from the middle of first hole 3/4" for the second hole. Then mark the center again at 3/4" across. Step 5: Drill out the second hold just like in step 4. Step 6: Attach the bracket to the can. I used a 1" long 1/4 20 hex head bolt with a 1/4" lock washer then a 1/4" flat washer then the bracket then a 1/4" flat washer then a 1/4" hex nut. Step 7: Unscrew the 10mm bolt located on the passenger side of the motor just the left of the pulleys. There is a a identical bolt about four inches to the left of it. Make sure you use the one to the right. Step 8: Enjoy!! I will attach a picture of the catch can attach tomorrow, phone died while taking pictures. Comment or PM me with any questions!
