What makes sense to me is smaller EVs with shorter ranges meant for daily errands, and this includes ebikes. I own such an ebike and I love it. I drive cars a lot less since buying it, but this depends on local infrastructure. I am aware many urban areas have little to no infrastructure for bikes and peds, this is unfortunate.

For longer ranges I think plug-in hybrids with shorter EV-only ranges are a far better option vs full EV. My friend owns a Volvo that fits this, it has enough range to get groceries without using the gas motor, but then for longer ranges it can use gas, and the hybrid system makes it more efficient vs a gas only vehicle. This makes sense despite the additional cost and complexity for the right user.
I have a GoTrax electric scooter that I like quite a bit. I use it to ride around the lake. With a top speed of 25 mph, a 25 mile range and a lake that's about three miles around it's perfect. It's quiet and doesn't disturb the wildlife or scare away the fish I want to catch. It also saves me quite a bit on gas as it doesn't make sense to fire up my Camaro just to drive such a short distance, not to mention the car doesn't have the opportunity to fully warm up.

See MartinJim’s post. Not sure where you just heard this from but it’s simply not true as Toyota just announced more BEVs.

Whatever you say…

“Contrary to much media interpretation over the years, “electrification” doesn’t mean electric cars. It means cars with an electric motor somewhere inside the drivetrain—of which the majority will likely be the regular Toyota hybrids we’ve seen for 20 years now or their plug-in hybrid variants.”

Which is exactly what I’ve been saying.

Nothing is preventing you from steering the thread back to DOHC, but maybe that isn't so interesting (as in, having an engine design every manufacturer has been using already and no further details available)

I would love to talk about a future super engine that's going into a Camaro.

Maybe a nice V8 DOHC supercharged engine, hybrid putting out 800+ hp with a cool new design, upgraded chassis with lots of carbon fiber, monster tires, 200+ mph top speed, 1.2+ on the skidpad and 1/4 mile times in the sub 11 second range? I would love to talk about that and I would be socking away cash to buy one.

Unfortunately there isn't going to be a future Camaro. If you want a conversation about future performance like that in a muscle car you have to go to a Mustang forum. GM is kicking us to the curb.

Perhaps it's unnatural for Camaro enthusiasts to come to a Camaro site and grouse about the fact that the manufacturer is deliberately killing the car they enjoy?

Or does it make more sense to just talk theory about a future engine design that's going into a truck?

Is this Silverado6.com now?
