Here's a fun update -
TC vs no TC. The Blue run is a 1:48.31 in Track mode with all the electronics off, the red run is a 1:47.88 in Track mode with the PTM set on "Race". Really interesting.....I feel like I can get in to the corner "better" with the TC off, but clearly the car isn't as hooked up and the rotation is a bit too much, losing time getting it pointed for the exit. In a few of my videos, you can really hear the TC working as I release the brake and pick up the throttle. I can't wait to see how this work when I get R compound tires on it. Ken |

UPDATE -
I had pretty much thought my season was over with, but I am trying to squeeze in 2 half days this coming week. Fingers crossed. I also ordered (from the recommendations on the sway bar thread) a front Hotchkis bar and rear BMR bar with matching end links. This will be a fun test to see if just the bars make a difference before switching over to the DSSVs for next year. Ken |

#5 Ridge Motorsport Park 9/12/21– NO Chicane 1:47.03
Track Mode with ESC in Race I was able to get 2 dry sessions in today at The Ridge before the rain came during the 3rd session. Cool/Cold conditions and none of the new parts came in, so no changes to the car, same F1 3S tires as before, all I did was rotate the best to the right side. Driving wise, I really worked on trying to get the car slowed and pointed earlier, since I knew the tires were pretty shagged. And....a new PB. 1:47.03. I was bummed as I had a 46.8 showing and hit traffic. My theoretical best is a 46.68 so for sure the car was working well today. Doesn't look like the weather will hold for Friday at Pacific, so this might be it for the year. Here's a few data graphs to check out... 1) Old PB vs new PB. 2) Data from the PB lap with Speed, Throttle, Brake and Steering 3) HR data from the sessions. EDIT - I stopped by the local county dump (next to the track) and weighed the car. With an 1/8 tank, but all my track gear (maybe 40lbs) in the car, it weighed 3651lbs. Sure be nice to be under 3500! Awesome Ken! Looks like you are really carved a chunk off turn 6 and 11, and the cold air really helped out the straights!
Have you tried the no-lift-shift? I wonder if it would help another few hundredths or so. I never remember on the 2-3 shifts cause they are a little more urgent but on 3-4 it seems to be faster. Also how do you like the Garmin? Gotta order me some DS1.11…… |

Review coming soon on the Garmin! I like it. The pads make a huge difference, but I would go right to the DS 3.12s. These are fantastic, but I am starting to see the limits of the current brake setup I have now. No fade, but I would like the car to stop a bit quicker, maybe 100tr tires will help. The car continues to impress....... Ken |

#6 Pacific Raceway (Kent, WA) 9/15/21 - 130.74
I was able to get an hour of lapping at lunch at Pacific Raceway during one of the driving schools. Not really a great environment for a quick lap with the school students out getting their first laps and the surface still damp/dry line forming from the morning rain. Fun track (for a car) and I'm pretty sure I can haul ass there with clear track and a dry surface. No changes to the car..... Observations from going to a new different track: - So easy to get up too speed - This track has less grip than The Ridge, so the 3S tires weren't as great - I used PTM Race 2, as the track was wet/damp the entire time and this setting seemed fine. - The front straight is quite long and you can run 5th gear out a long time. (147mph) I do wish the car had more power, everywhere, but that will have to wait until I decide to void the warranty. - Not a lot of hard braking compared to The Ridge, brakes were great. - As is, I feel the car can do a 1:27 here with a dry track and no traffic. Video from the last 15min - https://youtu.be/XdW2S6Xe9OA |

Great thread! Do you have any data on how much lateral grip improvement the car had with going from the OE SuperCar 3 to the 305/30-19 SuperCar 3 from your post #38?
Thank You Chad

At first glance, not really a big difference, but when I blew up the high G sections, there is a big difference, considering the only change is the wheels/square set up, same tires.... Overview of the entire lap - red is the quicker lap with a higher lateral number - Blown up section - |

Thanks Ken for the info on the 20" vs 19" Goodyears. I have a 2022 1SS 1LE on order. I had a '14 1LE and I ran 19" wheels, their offsets will work on the '22 so that was interesting info.
I see you are running the Solo 2 DL. Are you on the CAN bus connection? I wanted the PDR and all the great data it provides but it was on constraint when I ordered so I did without it. I did not wan to lose my allocation. I think the Solo 2 DL via CAN bus could be the next best thing as far as available data. Thanks!

Yep, AIM Solo2 DL with the OBD connector. The data that comes out of the ECU is great and has all the channels I need for this car. Not as fancy as the PDR, but get a AIM smarty cam to tie in with it and it will be better. Ken |
