I don’t know but it might be easier than the factory drain plug! The only problem I have is getting the front end high enough to change the oil therefore I will order some Race Ramps from Summit Racing in the near future!

Some of the heavy equipment we purchase come equipped with plugs like that. We call them environmental plugs. Makes for a much cleaner oil change experience especially on windy days.

yea LT4greg gotta have the race ramps its almost a must to do it quickly i figure they pay for themselves after the first few oil changes or so. Yes it will definitely tame the 10q spray when draining the oil. plus you can do it while the oil is warm. I found a youtube of a guy with a camaro who put one in and used it.. No mess no drips.

Have something similar, Stahlbus Oil Drain Valves.

Stahlbus oil drain valves are installed in place of conventional oil drain plugs. Once installed the valves simplify the procedure for changing oil in your car. The quick disconnect drain hose connector snaps into place opening the valve to drain the oil. When the drain hose connector is removed the valve automatically closes. Each Stahlbus oil drain valve includes a high-strength steel valve body, copper sealing washer, anodized aluminum safety cap, quick disconnect hose connector, 40 cm Silicone drain hose, and instructions.

Unlike competitive oil drain valves, Stahlbus oil drain valves do not have a lever-operated ball valve. The absence of a lever allows for a much smaller valve design compared to competing products. The Stahlbus drain valve is just slightly larger than the standard oil drain plug. The smaller symmetrical shape of the Stahlbus valve allows it to be installed without an additional adapter frequently required by the more bulky lever-operated valves.

The Stahlbus oil drain valves are precision made in Germany.

Carried by a number of vendors to include Amazon.

Makes changing oil..alot less messy!

Ooooh this looks nice. I have a lift and it's still a bitch to catch all 10 quarts with zero splatter when warm. I run a fumoto valve on my truck since it sees a LOT of oil changes.

+1 on the Stahlbus valve. I have one on my car.

Makes taking samples for Blackstone a breeze.

Great thread guys. I just ordered Stahlbus. I picked up some Race Ramps this past fall and will enjoy doing a lot of my own maintenance now.

Only thing that could make oil change easier on this car is if oil filter was on top like many euro cars and you could remove oil w suction setup - no ramps required.. but its not. Drain is clean, no cross members in way, nice smooth drain. Filter is almost, easy to rectify w few holes in the filter body to allow it to drain and minimize "spill".

I would not add any points of failure in such critical area.
