SC to Head bolts

Hi fellas,

On one of the recent CC threads, someone posted a link for the purchase of 10 bolts that hold the SC to the heads. The ad mentions the bolts are made of stainless steel t-304, is this spec or at least suitable to use?

https://www.ebay.com/itm/153471322011

Thanks,
Chris

If you are asking if 304 is strong enough to hold a CC, sure. Yield is not as good as 303 but 304 has better corrosion resistance. To hold that component you won’t have issues at all.

Are you selecting that hardware for corrosion resistance?

Ill be installing my CC soon and the general consensus is that it’s ok to reuse the 20 cover bolts but the 10 bolts that hold the SC to the heads should be replaced. GM sells the gasket kit which includes the bolts for $90 or I could pay $10 for the bolts on eBay. Right now I’m thinking the $80 difference isn’t worth the afterthought that somehow the “cheap” bolts from eBay are inappropriate for the task.

Thank you,
Chris

I had just ordered that bolt package from gm parts direct and they canceled my order. The gasket package with the bolts is on back order
