You think this might be a failure point and to not risk putting something like this in?

What is everyone elses opinion? Dont risk it for something as simple as a cleaner way to change oil? This is kind of why i posted it to get others opinion if it is a good idea and see how many people use them on their baby's.

No failure risk..... spring pressure + weight of 10 qts of oil keeps the valve closed and safety cover adds peace of mind.

This and quick jacks make oil changes a pleasure.

Had it on my Corvette for 2 years and then moved it over to my ZL1, for the past 10 months. The only problem I had was a small leak from the copper crush washer, while it was on the Corvette. I contacted Stahlbus and they indicated they had gotten away from the copper crush washer "because of leaks" and replaced it with a rubber like one, which they subsequently sent me.
The problem with the crush washer is you can not crank on the bolt, like an OEM one, because it is hollow. I don't remember the max torque, but it was very low.
Since the new washer...no problems.
It takes a little longer to drain the oil, but the "less mess" is worth it, to me!

the Stahlbus and the valvomax look the same basically. Side note for the people using magnetic plugs. Do you ever have any metal on the magnet during oil changes?

Stahlbus looks interesting. I've been using the Fumuto drain valves for years and have been pleased with them. They are the lever/ball-valve style. Draining is a matter of attaching the hose, and turning the lever.

Yea i cant decide if i want to go the magnetic route for protection, or the easy no mess route. So many decisions ...

I thought my fumoto was a great brilliant idea until it took 30 min to drain at a trickle 10 qts from the too small orifice. Complete waste IMHO. The idea is brilliant but in practice, i think its a fail.

No Spill makes them as well. We use the larger versions on the heavy equipment. It will drain 40 litres of hot oil in about 5 minutes. If the oil is cold it takes closer to 30 minutes. This one is 12mm x 1.75

This brand is what I used for my transmission oil pan mod, but I use it for refilling not draining. We use them on all our big trucks at work for draining, it is a high-quality product.
